For reference for my last post, this is what I think looks pretty good.

I remember that from my '98 Subaru 2.5RS- the huge hood scoop and the functional hood vents that actually opened like the rally car.
My current STI has a larger opening, but instead of a big scoop on top of the hood they just lowered the bottom of the scoop to work almost like a naca duct and greatly improve aero. Still does not look as cool from the driver's seat. The blue '98 RS with gold wheels got lots of go-fast bits over the years and eventually I used the hood scoop for the nitrous purge tube. That surprised a few people who wanted to drag race me.

This was the first cool car I ever had a ride in, and what inspired me to get an mk3 supra (or into cars more in general). Love that one too 3 of my best friends have (or had) FC's. . Also took some getting used to but I even like the hump in the DSM's hoods.

I was a 'murican muscle car fan until my Z28 got soundly beaten by a MK3 supra turbo and then I was hooked on Japanese cars. First test drive was an FC T2 and it was so fast I was scared of it. Ended up with a MK1 MR-2. When that got stolen... ended up with an FC. Couple dozen RX7s and an RX8 later I found my way to VQ-land since I wasn't patient enough (or rich enough) to buy a legally imported R33 GT-R lol.

I know you guys aren't the crowd for this, but even if you aren't I wish more brands did this kind of offering at least. Turn key race Civic Si built by Honda's own race team.
I think the most interesting aspect is that after that the curb weight is 2600 lbs!

The race car is purpose built from a white body which deletes the 2022 Civic Si road car’s sunroof, sound proofing, insulation, underbody coating and seam sealer. The car is specially constructed for racing using a selection of HPD and carefully selected partner performance and safety components.

After test-driving one in Buffalo, a friend of mine just placed an order for an Ionic 5. He was told expect to wait four to five months.
At least he got to drive it. Apparently the dealership keeps one (1) for test drives, and just takes orders for future delivery. But that's in Buffalo, 70 miles away. Our local Hyundai dealership isn't qualified yet to service them, so they get bupkis.

Still seeing the covid economy clusterf*** consequences play out across multiple industries - I don't think the car industry is quite through with getting worse before it gets better part. Also think the increased prices on new are here to stay - and that used will settle higher than they historically were, hopefully not the craziness we've seen (I'm looking at you, 1984 FB RX7 with unrepairable engine for $18,000 sold on ebay).

Carbuzz seems to think the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N will debut soon as it has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring. A hot hatch with 577 hp, 546 lb-ft, AWD, no need for gas or an oil change, and real track cred at the Nurburgring? Sign me up! I wonder if they are working on trying to make is sound good like Porsche since most Hyundai N vehicles sound really good. I would imagine it has a 300-ish mile range.
So how much will it cost? I think anything starting with a 5 in the price would still be a pretty good deal- especially if it qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax incentive. Or maybe they have a crazy good lease special with an insane residual value like a lot of other EV's have done. Thoughts?

Big fan of hatchbacks... Car before the G (not counting that kia optima sux) was a hatch... a '97 z28. That car moved me twice. Amazing how much stuff you can fit with the back seats down.
Not a fan at all of any EV's in any shape/form. When they can be recharged in 10 min or less than there might be something to talk about.
As for korean brands, after my optima experience, I swore off the brand for a decade. Jury is still out with the current stinger. We'll see what the experience is after 5-10 years. So far a front drive shaft (awd) bearing has failed after a year ~5400 miles.

I know hatchbacks are hit or miss here, but I grew up with GTI's and loved the practicality of a "hot hatch." The Ioniq 6 N should be a bit swoopier and a lot of reviews are comparing it to a 911, but I think that is a stretch. It looks properly aggressive, but I am not a huge fan of the headlights in a lot of the renderings. They look better in this pic.

I do appreciate what is happening with EV's and the tech and all that, and I agree they are fast. Comparing an electric motor to an ICE is just like apples to oranges (just my personal opinion), so if anyone says "so-and-so EV can go 0-60mph in X seconds" or "it's way faster than a 370Z", it doesn't even matter to me because they are not in the same class. It is not a fair comparison. An EV just feels like an empty shell to me without the rawness of an ICE under the hood.
But having said all that, I completely respect your preferences and not trying to sound negative at all
