Well there it is my next dream car. V8, mid-size sedan, manual, & supercharged V8.

That's good news that it has a stick shift! The CTS was always A/T for the last gen. I wonder what engine will be in the fast version of the CTV4-V. That would be an awesome car to get that same engine. I doubt it, but it would be really cool. I see Cadillac is still keen on the ugly orange interior. Hopefully, not too many people order those.

You said V8 twice... for emphasis, I'm sure.

Man, that's a lot of car. I would like that car, irrespective of the brand and all the silver trim that goes with it. Wow.

I came across this article yesterday that makes it sound like the next generation M2 will get a de-tuned version of the new M3 motor and be offered with a 4 door option. This is especially good news for me as I think a 4dr. makes more sense with a 1 yr old. The article goes on to describe a new hopped up one series and possible M1 hatchback. This will probably never see the U.S, but a BMW hot hatch would be cool.

My accountant bought a 2020 Red Sport a few months ago, and was eager to show it off to me in his garage. Nice car, no doubt. But sitting in it and walking around, there was nothing special, insofar as whatever triggers my spidey sense about what's "special".

He wants me to visit in the spring so that I can drive it. Looking forward to that.

I think they're very good looking cars and the power potential is tempting. The 7AT is just such a dog though. Wish it was more like a ZF and had a little more motivation with the shifts; especially now that it can handle more power.

That's for sure. I like the front end styling and they have a great engine with lots of tuning potential, but they are garbage to drive. The steering, handling, and weight do not do the car any favors. I reviewed one in this thread not too long ago if you scroll up far enough. I really tried to convince myself to get one since they are so cheap and a lot of parts from my car would transfer over, but my car is still a lot more fun to drive- especially since it is a 6MT.

True, but I wonder how it would be after some mods. Also, if you get a version without DAS (it's rare but exists) the steering might be better? Who knows. Once the 2018 refresh models come down in price some more it may be something i consider.

The one I drove was without DAS and it was still pretty uninspiring. Lots of understeer. But that is to be expected in a car that has become more luxury car than sports car now. No doubt you could still make the car fun and probably significantly faster in a straight line than my car, but it still lacks soul and is not terribly fun to drive. I want my next car to be a step in terms of fun, performance, and features- not one that has compromises.

Probably because your G was that car, and that situation, when you first bought it. (I don't remember your history, I'm sure you've discussed it.)

Anyway, if you can carry that into the next car, more power to you. Hope it works out, 4DRZ.

I've yet to drive a Q, so I don't know what I'm in for , you all could be right, I like the general style of the car. I like the G rear end a lot more than I do the Q's , but I do like the front end of the Q's. I'm happy with my G37xS, Its got style and is mad comfortable to drive. Driving a Q is the only way for myself to make that decision. For now I'm content driving my G , but would definitely like to test drive a Q. and as others mentioned , the option to tune a TT engine is intriguing

The 2018 models with the facelift look way better IMO. Also when they are modded I think they are one of the best looking cars around.

Oddly enough the two cars before the G37S sedan were an '05 E46 BMW M3 and a '14 Mitsubishi EVO GSR. I definitely wanted more refinement, features, better ride, and seats that were easier to get in and out of daily (after I messed up my back- better now). Getting similar performance to the Evo took a lot of work and I took out the factory seats anyway, but I am happy where I ended up.

I thought the same thing about the styling- I like the front of the Q, but like the back better on our cars. The Q does have an engine with much more performance potential than our G's. I am sure you could do a lot to a Q to make it a very fun car to drive. Probably the reason I am not considering it is that my car in its current state of tune is very far removed from stock and what a stock Q feels like. I feel like I would be starting over with the same car with the Q, except for the engine. For me, I want my next car to be lighter, faster, handle better, have more tech/features, and better brakes. Sure, I will probably end up modding the next car a bit too. I always do and that is part of the fun for me.

For now, I am happy with my car the way it is and that is a good thing so I can wait out all of these performance car releases in the next year or two. I don't remember the last time the automotive industry was on the cusp of releasing so many "practical" sports cars/sedans with game changing performance. It is going to be very interesting to me to see which cars get it right and are really good and which cars just "mail it in."
