Loss of power/hesitation on WOT
I've noticed this for the past few months or so and I've done some searching but can't seem to find anyone with the exact same issue.
When I step on the gas, sometimes (not all the time), the car hesitates for a second or two before actually accelerating like it's supposed to. As soon as I hit the gas the RPM will for a split second jump up and then fall back down to around 2-2500 for about a second or so before rocketing back up again.
I've read about some transmissions going into "limp mode" but from what I've seen it usually doesn't let the RPM go above 2,500 or so once that happens. Whereas mine will still go above that limit, just not right away.
Is this a known issue or has anyone else experienced something similar? I can try and get a video of it today to show exactly what I'm talking about.
It's an '09 X with around 75,000 miles.

I have a 2010 G37xS with 69K miles that does similar to what you say. For my G, it happens like this. I am cruising at 65MPH and I floor all of a sudden, there is a 1-2 second delay before the trans shifts and the car builds speed. Another thing is if I am cruising at 65MPG and I lift my foot off the gas pedal and press it say 2 inches, I notice the same thing: The RPM jumps 2-300 and comes back down before shifting into a lower great. Really makes this car feel sloppy and slow at times.

from the symptoms posted im leaning towards the accelerator pedal may be faulty. if you have a friend with the same type of ride you got, i would do a quick swap and test drive your car and see what happens. highly unlikely 2 throttle actuators will go out at the same time, but strange things do happen. and before any of you make the assumption that the accelerator pedal will throw a check engine light, the answer is "no".

Is it the throttle lag that is often talked about?

Posting to let everyone know the issue. It seems that my accelerator pedal was going bad. I found one on ebay from a 2014 Q50 for $35 + free shipping. I installed it Monday night and so far it's been perfectly fine! I haven't run into the power lag/loss that I would experience almost everyday driving it before.
Note: My check engine light was never on for this. It's common for it to come on when this happens in other vehicles I'm pretty sure but it is not triggered in the g37.
