Exclamation 2010 G37xS wont start after battery change

Hello everyone,

Two weeks ago my G37 starting giving me troubles and wont start. When I would put my foot on the brake and press the start button, the car would make fast clicking sound and the dash lights would flicker. I jumped the car battery and it started. No problems for 2 days and it did it again. This time, I went to the auto parts store and bought the following battery: AutoCraft Gold, Group Size 35, 640 CCA. After the replacement, the car had no issues for another 2 weeks and last night when I went to start the car, it started doing the same thing.

Any idea what the problem is? Could the alternator be causing issues?

The car is a 2010 model with 68K miles.

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like the battery isn't getting charged while driving, so you're altenator is not working

test your alternator and load test it. load test your battery, plenty of shi tty batteries being sold by auto parts stores like autozone and oreillys.

Hmm, will do. Thanks!!

If it is indeed the alternator, should I stick with OEM (Denso??) or a good aftermarket unit will work? Is it a DIY item?

I went to Advance Auto Parts and they did a battery test as well as a load test on the alternator. It all seems to be fine according to the tests. I have attached the test results.

The person who performed the tests suggested that it could be parasitic draw and someone who knows how to test for this will have to do it.

Please chime in! Thanks.

Essentially, when I am about to park my car, I have to make sure the radio is turned off before turning off the car, otherwise it keeps draining the battery. I am assuming it is not turning off the amp???

What would be a fix for this??

Thank all !!!
