BCM Programing

Hello gentlemen's,
I need some suggestions/advice. I had a water leak due to a bad seal, on an electrical harness coming into the car, from the battery compartment.
The water leaked on my BCM (Body Control Module) and ruined it. Dealership fixed the leak and is charing me $900 dollars to install a new one and program it.
Does anyone here know where I could get it done for a better price?

Thanks
Steven.

I imagine most that price is for a new BCM. You could roll the dice, buy a used one from a wreaked G and have them install and reprogram to match your ECU and fobs. Reprogram should be $60-120 depending on your dealership.

you are better off with a new bcm and getting it done at the dealer. now any work related to the bcm is at least warrantied versus getting a part from the scrap yard and hoping it will functioning properly down the road. sometimes its just not worth it to go cheap as it may cost you more down the line. thats just my opinion on the matter.

Thanks for the input guys, both of you guys make a good point. getting one from a wreck yard would be the cheapest route, but a new one comes with warranty.
I called the dealership and they charge 150 for the programming. If i buy the part and install it my self ill save the labor cost. The part online is an average of 350+150 for the programming = 500.
I might go that route.
Thanks again

I'm pretty sure the new one from the dealer would only have a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty, so IDK if that's enough to justify the price premium.

dealer wants $444 for reprogramming. i got a quote prior to installation it was same, installed myself and they want same price. claim they are charging their “flat rate for that part” saying it will take 2 hours. no locksmith says they can do it not sure why.
