How is the steering feel with 245's on 8's? I would think it would be a bit less direct with a tire that wide on a 8" rim.

The steering seems fine to me. When you say less direct, what do you mean by that?

By less direct I'm referring to slower steering response. Typically the wider the tire on the same size wheel the slower steering response. So a 225 on an 8 would respond quicker to steering input than a 245 on an 8.

Just ordered a set of these wheels for my '13xS. They will make a nice Winter set.
Thanks for posting up this deal!

EDIT: I got an email from them saying they had to order the wheels and would be shipping in a few days.

Do you live in Overland Park, KS Near 75th and Metcalf by any chance? I could have sworn I saw this exact car. I have the same color xS sedan with the same wheels but in 19" with the front lip and spoiler.

I'm in Minneapolis actually, originally from Chicago though, which is where I recently bought this car from.

Yeah the size I currently have is not ideal. I am looking into exchanging to a 225/50/18 which I have most recently found out, is the recommended OEM size from Infiniti. I don't notice much difference from my 17's these 245/45's but that could just be me used to it by now. Hope this helps.

Dealership also informed that these wheels were intended for 225 50 18.

There's trade offs with various recommended tire sizes. A 225/50 has a recommended wheel width of 6" to 8" with an IDEAL mount on a 7", a 235/45 has a 7.5 to 9" range w/ 8" being the IDEAL, and 245/45 also has a 7.5 to 9" range and also lists 8" as ideal, but to be honest a 8.5 would be the IDEAL mount on that size. I'm just going by these particular Toyo tires but is pretty much in line w/ other UHP tires. Just check the link and click 18" size to see various specs.

https://www.toyotires.com/tire/patte...l-season-tires

For our higher hp cars having a bit more tire on the road is a good plan, will provide a bit more of a planted feel, a bit more tire on the road for lateral grip.

Actually the best size on them would be a 235 width, but the diameter on a 225/50 or a 245/45 is closest to OEM, so IMO all three are reasonable choices, and all three sizes are within tire factory recommended wheel width ranges.
