It's becoming easier to steal cars.
With advancements of technology and tools, plus the ability to get cheap chinese tools on ebay or other sources it is getting easier and easier to steal cars.
Anyone here think or try to protect their cars a little more. It's becoming very easy to either program a new key to a car or even completely replace ECU's and other computers on the car to start and drive it away. And for $10 one can easily build a device to unlock doors, etc.
I was thinking why take a chance when a solution to protect my car could be very easy to do.
Anyone here using a manual method of some kind?
Was thinking about tapping into the start button and wiring a simple toggle switch. This should help a little.
Anyone have any other good ideas? Pulling the fuel pump fuse might be another idea but would be too much hassle ...
Any ideas or tips?
thanks,

A simple kill switch will solve pretty much any theft attempt minus the car being towed away. Have a switch that kills power to the fuel pump or something and everything will work fine but the car won't start.

Leave a .45 bullet on the dash with a note saying "This car is GPS activated. I don't know who you are.. But I will find you.. and I will kill you..". Idk it worked in taken, maybe it will work for us.

If the electronic steering lock is disabled on G37, they won't be able to reprogram a new key to the car.
I found this after i disabled the steering lock after it failed.
Disconnecting the steering lock, will "kill" the car and can't be started even with the correct key

LOL good luck with that on G37 where the SL unit is on the right of the steering column, NOT under the column.
That "trick" won't help programming a new key on a disabled SL unit.
