Gas station pump stops before tank is full

I have the same problem, the only thing you can really do is fiddle with the nozzle to try to make it work. Some pumps around here simply don't work no matter how much I fiddle with them, I'll get a quarter or maybe a half tank and it shuts off continually. I just try to avoid those ones. It's a real pain, and the weird thing is that this only just started happening a couple months ago, on the same pumps I've been using for years. There has to be a reason.

I just had the same issue today pumping at Costco as well! I'll try another pump later to see if our cars really don't like Costco gasoline...

Thanks I'll try that next time. I did visit another gas station later that day and didn't have any problems. I noticed that the nozzle at the Exxon station was longer than the one at Costco.
