Vibration
Hi guys. I'm still kinda new here and now I need some help again I recently got this 2010 x sedan with 61000 miles. It looks pretty good inside and out. I recently bought summer wheels and tires for it. 18x8 on 235/50/18's. 1st day I drove it on the highway the steering wheel shook pretty good at 80 so I took it back to discount tire and they rebalanced all 4. Took it on the hi way again and it still shook at 80 although better than the first time so I took it back and they rebalanced again and this time they said they road forced balance the wheels and everything was "round". I drove it on the highway again and there is still some noticeable shake on the steering wheel at 75 but gone at 80 but at 80mph I notice some shaking on the seats. Hmmmm...??? I called discount tire and they said they don't know what's up...recommended that if it still happens after a few hundred miles that they could change the tires to a different brand and that they have called Hankook (I have the venous v12 evo2) to get an ok that I drive it for 90 days. Has anyone had this kind of issues? Could it be the tires or maybe something else? Please any insights on this could help. I'm about to call an Infiniti dealership to have them look at the car. Thanks in advance!

Did you get hub adapter rings for your new wheels? Most aftermarket wheels have hubs in the 73mm range and the Infiniti hub OD is 66.1mm so getting those adapter rings get your wheels completely on center and will usually eliminate vibration issues, or at least significantly improve it.
If you do have the rings try to isolate the wheel that's causing the issue, might be a tire fault.
FWIW Ebay sells aluminum rings for about $15, these are much better than the plastic ones that most tire shops carry. Just need to confirm the exact bore on your new wheels.

Blnewt, discount tire did put the rings....plastic only. I don't know what size it is though. I will be looking into it and I hope this solves my problem. I called dealership and they recommended changing tires because they said they've had some clients who had bad experiences with hankook tires. I hope it's this simple and nothing big. Thanks man.

I'll probably take it to a shop after I try the hub rings and maybe change different brand tires and have the shop check axles, drive shaft and stuff. I just hope it gets figured out....the car is soooo awesome to drive in the highway....I would love it more if it was smooth driving. Don't get me wrong...the shaking isn't as bad as I have seen some have on YouTube but it's there and it's annoying.

Those will work, but they get brittle and start cracking and chipping after a couple wheel changes, these will last the life of your wheels

Ha! Just had the hankooks replaced with bfg gforce sport comp2's and had the aluminum hubrings put in as blnewt suggested and now I'm vibration free! No more steering wheel shakes or seat shaking at any speed. Now I can finally enjoy this car 100%! Thanks guys for all the info and suggestions.
