Do it quick enough and you should only lose your seat settings. Just turn off the option to slide back when you leave the car and it'll be in the same position.

The only thing you lose is seat settings. Bluetooth and phone stuff all stays.

Much appreciated, the battery is 6 years old, still going strong but I don't want to to gamble with fall/winter coming.

I did not lose my seat settings when the dealer replaced my battery.

They might have used another power source when changing the battery out. I thought of doing this with my portable battery.

Start the car and replace the battery while the car is running. It will retain everything.

I had a portable jump start battery pack which I used while battery was out. Worked like a charm.

I had the dealer replace my battery on my previous 06 G35. I did not lose any settings and everything worked after the battery replacement. The dealer price was within $20 of other batteries that I priced.
Price the battery at the dealer parts department and not thru the service department.
After the purchase at the parts department just carry it over to a service advisor and then ask them to install it for you
