Pump your brakes there gman. Dude probably told you that to get you down there into the service department and then and sell you an expensive battery from the parts department.

I run a optima red top in my van, running 200 watts with a 2.5 ferret cap. battery lasted 7 years in Florida's, heat. Now I am running a Napa AMG Battery, so far so good, but only had it one year..
When I need to change the battery in the G, I will probably put in the optima, since I have a 1000 watt amp with a 4 ferret cap... and with all the electronics in the car.. I'll spend the little extra money for it..

How did you get 2.5 ferrets in there ? Cut one in half?

WRONG Black Betty.... Okay I have an update... Well I did need a new battery. Infiniti covered it 100 percent... Plus the new battery they gave me came with a 84 month warranty. The first 2 years will also be 100 percent covered and after that it will be prorated.. The service advisor told me the batteries are 100 percent covered 4 years or 60,000 miles.

The manual I linked to is for 2014 model year. I'm glad to be wrong in this case, and glad they covered it for you. I presumed that manual included toe original battery, but it seems yours was covered by the factory bumper to bumper and anything subsequent to that is what's covered by the battery warranty manual.

Don't know why he told you a cap is a hinderence....the whole point is to have stored energy for when your car needs is when the draw is more then what the battery can supply (which is obvious in your case since you needed it for the lights to work properly)

I could go through and find 40+ links if I wanted to, but the results are the same. The cap puts a bigger strain on your charging system due to being another battery to charge.
I'll stop derailing the thread, but facts needed to be stated.
