High pitched noise at high engine RPM 2013 G37x
Hi all,
I have a stock 2013 g37x.
When the car accelerate hard(full throttle), when engine RPM is over 6000 rev/min right before shifting(especially for 2nd and 3rd gears), I can hear high pitched and frequency noise. Unfortunately, I am not able to locate the noise. I have been using premium car and taking good care of my car. Please help diagnose or let me know if you have similar issue. Thank you!

Can't see the video, as it is marked Private.
I noticed a similar noise after I installed my R2C intakes. It seems to have gotten better than it was. I also had to install the rubber molding stuff between the cowl plastics and the windshield, which took out a whole lot more noise I was having.
Because the noise only happens at high RPMs under load, it is much more difficult to diagnose.

That sounds a lot like what I have.
Ricio1991, now that you mention that, the noise got better after I did my headlight work, so your theory makes sense!

^I pulled the covers off of the wheel well to get to the lights. It gave me more room to solder and better access overall. Details are in my Build thread in my sig.
I did not put 2+2 together until he mentioned the liners in the wheel well.

Dealer got my wheel liner(you mean the one covering up the break disk? correct?) fastened and the high pitched noise is still there. This high pitch noise only happens when engine is at high RPM right before shifting, regardless of what road surface condition is.

No...I'm talking about the plastic fender liner in wheel well.

This is what the Infiniti dealership told me:
" I talked to the technician and he said this is the same issue that we looked at with the Infiniti rep. And he said that is normal operation and nothing to do to fix this. I thought you were talking about a different noise. This noise will happen when at that high of RPMs because the engine isn’t designed to maintain that fast of revolutions."
And they have another 2013 G37 that does the same thing.
I guess this noise is normal.
