Rear air vents question

Hey is it just me or does it seem like the rear vents don't throw out much air?
My vent it opened all the way but seems like it doesn't work all that great. Anyone else having this issue?

Honestly, I've never checked in the four plus years I've owned my car. I never ride back there.

I'm in a 09' and they work like a champ. Honestly I've closed them a few times because they are most of the time just heating or chilling an empty space. When the little one is back there he's asked for them to be closed more then once.
