V band - 2.25"
Amazon Amazon

Exhaust reducer - 2.25" to 2"
Amazon Amazon

These are the exact parts I used. The nismo/IPL midpipe is 60mm, or 2.3".

For some it may be a "frankenstein" type of exhaust setup but I really love the Tanabe mufflers and I wanted to try something different/re-use OEM+ parts.

I hear you man. I am working on my own Frankenstein as I feel the same about the Tannabe axleback. The unit is extremely high quality and sounds really good when paired with the smaller Vibrant 1790 resonators. I hesitate to recommend it anymore as the new company Revel wants $720 for a set I paid $537 for back in 2016; seems extreme for an axleback. I feel that Tannabe missed an opportunity by not providing a midpipe for the sedan (they only make one for all the FM platform cars with cannister mufflers). The ypipe they provide is the same as all the others, 2.5" off the cats into a 3" collector. This would likely rasp when paired to an OEM sedan mid-pipe (2 1/4"->1 3/4" off the cats into a 2.5" collector).

Warning. NSFW. Found a set of these on eBay for $250, rears only so I am working on the front. Chrome is excellent quality and the assembled weight is just 25lbs, which is the same as the stock duck feet. L.A. Tire and wheel may be an option for the front as they have blanks in stock and can chrome for $280 each. I think I want to keep my existing wheels together as set since they are still in great shape and someone on Reddit will buy. Question: has anymore seen this center cap? I need two more and can’t seem to find them anywhere, but I am also considering
black 60mm center caps black 60mm center caps
as I like the contrast.

And you always promise to dig up a link :-)

I have been unable to find it. Thought it would be in the 18" wheel pic thread, but not there. I vaguely recall it, but can't recall where. Maybe it was a red sedan?

Prior to COVID, a set of these wheels hung on the wall at my local dealership where they stash all the accessories. I asked about them once, and it took 3 people to research and tell me that they sell for $3200 a set. I was like, no thanks. Then these two appeared on Ebay. I think the center caps are custom as that PN takes me to a bunch of blank chrome center caps. Looks like an Infiniti symbol was glued on then the inside painted silver to create a little contrast?

I think the factory center caps would look fine, but I'm wondering if a little more contrast would look more OEM, less custom.

Amazon Amazon

If I chase the PN on the backside, it takes me to these, which are 60mm/2 1/8":

@Krzysztof47 I know you recently put some time into researching center caps. Any thoughts?

It was a VR Sedan. The chromed duckfeet looked awesome on it. I tried again to find it for you, and failed. Sorry.

No issues. I was just giving you a hard time. VR as in VR30/Q50? Interesting. I know those guys are always on Reddit looking for wheels that clear the BBK they are installing, so maybe? If my car was a darker color, I'd probably avoid the swap as that would look a little too pimped out for my taste. But there is something about the combination of silvers, black accents, chrome and carbon fiber that just looks aesthetically pleasing to me. I think that black center caps would actually make the wheels look more sporty and OEM.

Side note, I found a shop here in San Diego that will powder coat any color you want for 125-150 per wheel. That seems like a steal. Chrome is not environmentally safe, so it's tough to find a shop that is certified and can chrome for reasonable prices. L.A. Wheel and Tire is my goto: https://www.lawheel.com/wheels-and-t...anufacturer=33

Garage floor ****. I'm jealous.

However (!!!), this time next year we'll be house hunting, which means I've got a shot at having a better garage than the one I've been enjoying (LOL) for the last 30 years.

Up close, absolutely. Stared at a few paces back, yes. But at a distance, I don't know... not so much.

That's my thinking on blacked out wheels. I think the whole PlastiDip craze gave me a neg impression, right or wrong.

The garage has come a long way over the last 5 years. The Swisstrax tiles really help the garage stay clean. If we ever decide to move I can always take them with me.

Black, or "flat black" in this case was not my first choice but I found these slightly used for a great deal. They are very aggressive looking and are decently concave but all of that is lost in pictures since they are black. I think they look great from a distance but again lighting is key.

The more I look at the picture the more I realize I need to blackout the window trim to complete the look.

You know me. I'm on the other side of the spectrum and prefer subtle contrast of analogous colors and textures. I think that's why carbon fiber is intriguing. As such, I never caught on to the "murdered" de-chromed approach as its not a graduated and timeless look to me. Different strokes I guess. If we all liked the same thing, life would get boring quick.
