What did you do to your Sedan today?

Because It looks cool under the car where everyone can see them. 😎
The clamps have lasted the past few hundred miles fine. Everything looks pretty much the same. There are also steel zip ties securing the wrap.
I enjoy wrenching on the car and experimenting with different things like this.

Dude, those test pipes are right next to your leg. Haven't you ever noticed the heat coming off of the trans tunnel? Drove around without the center console installed once and it was not pleasant.
Even with my ceramic coated long tube headers, im tempted to wrap 'em.
Biggest problem I see with heat wrap is if the valve covers leak onto the headers! 🔥
if you do it "right", wrap can and will last a looong time.
Holding the heat in against stainless or mild steel tubing isn't the best for longevity anyway.

Is there a downside to wrapping your headers/exhaust? Seems that this would be a great means to keep under hood temps lower in general, so it seems that manufacturers would wrap those high heat items to keep the intake charge lower (better performance and MPG)

Depending on construction of the header, the weld joints will heat fatigue early and crack. This happens less with ceramic coated stuff, but nonzero.
Keep in mind that for a racecar, the longevity of any part only needs to be 1 race + n minutes. The advantages to coating and wrapping with a turbo especially on a track car outweigh the cost of a new header each weekend.
Also cost. IIRC a downpipe for the FC jet-hot coated in the most durable stuff was about $375, when the downpipe itself was only $150 or so.
I do wonder what wrapping would do to TI or Inconel exhausts.

Ok, so it would be somewhat cost prohibitive for a manufacture to include.
Since the VQ is known to run hot, I've always wondered if thermal wrapping the intake and exhaust would be beneficial.
Iconel? Aircraft for weight savings?

Never heard of Inconel before, but the content in that link warns you right up front that it won't be cheap.
Doesn't a full titanium exhaust cost more than most Gs are worth these days? The Meisterschaft axle-back is $4500. And that's just an axle-back.
Vivid racing is selling the mid-pipes and y-pipe sections for $2000 each, so yeah... that's $9500 for a known quality titanium catback. Wow.
For that kind of money, you could get top-shelf exhaust, suspension, wheels & tires. Well, maybe not the wheels.

I'm looking for another mod and have my eye on a CF Steering wheel to match my mirror caps: https://southbayautoworkz.com/produc...steering-wheel
But I keep asking myself if I really need to store any more perfectly fine OEM parts in my garage.

Over the years here, probably count the number of Meisterscaft owners in single digits, but I don't know for sure.
It would be cool, no doubt. Solid bragging rights.
$470 for that pretty CF wheel? Just do it. Black Friday that thing.

Also - the twin turbo exhaust manifold on the FD RX7 is cast in inconel. Per wikipedia, Tesla uses it for battery contactors to enable ludicrous mode, Ford uses it for turbine wheels (I suspect the majority of modern turbine wheels are inconel TBH), many diesels use it in valves (sodium-filled, no less),
A variant of inconel called Waspalloy makes up most of the J58 engine used in the SR-71s - but still wasn't enough for the turbine blades themselves.

Also, PSA. Check the air in your spare tire! I was looking something else up for one of my other cars and saw people warning others to check the air pressure in their spare tire. Light bulb went off and I quickly tried to remember the last time I looked at that thing (all 35lbs of it). Initially, I felt a false sense of relief as it still looked brand new. That quickly ended when I threw a tire pressure gauge on it and saw a reading of "0". 60lbs later, I find myself apologizing to my portable air compressor for abuse.
Also, does anyone know what's supposed to go in the empty rectangular cut out shown? Every pic (like the one below) I find online shows it missing.
