Albeit seriously premature, but I'd definitely love to see what type of mechanism you come up with. Right now I'm using the shifter adapter from JDM Parts Ninja and, well, it definitely isn't perfect. Not worth the money for what it is, but at least I can run any type of knøb.

It's somewhat similar, just tighter tolerances and a more compact design. It may be a complete ****, not an adapter. I'll have to see how it goes. For now it's mostly all in my head

You know there will be a market for that. Hell, I think knurled aluminum would be neat.

Edited: The RX8 had one big **** in the center of the radio; one of the common mods (I did it too) was a rotor-shaped ****. Looked very neat but only rotorheads catch it. Not sure what a VQ-person could do with that - the skyline badge doesn't lend itself.

I use a heavy RAZO leather-covered ball shifter, and have used round shifters since I started racing.

Still chasing down a clunk in the new suspension. Strut tops are tight, tight to the car, lower bolts are tight, swaybar links are tight. Jacked the car and then put it on ramps to try to find the clunk but nada. Maybe I need to drive it more.

I had a sticking replacement shock in my camaro. Everything was tight stationary, but when weight shifted one way then the other, the movement in the shock wasn't smooth, resulting in a clunk.This became evident when going F/R back and forth (rocking the car). Maybe something similar in your case?

This was some cheap monroe (or one of the other popular brand names from back in the day) shocks. Replaced with with bilsteins, no problems.

Repaired this clock, and made it blue to match the rest of my interior. It might actually be too bright, hopefully it dims enough to look right in the car. We will see.

BULL

Almost positive it's the UCA. Everything else can be found by a simple visual inspection.
I thought top hats were the problem, switched to Z struts with newer strut mounts and still had the same noise.
Had a buddy tell me either strut mount or UCA for front clacking noises in G/Zs

They're brand new Konis, so I hope they aren't defective. Didn't have a clunk before, so that tells me it is a part I touched when I changed the shocks/springs.

I got whiteline front swaybar links since I was replacing the shocks (for you X people, the swaybar link upper bolt is what holds the shock in) and the nuts provided don't seat all the way on the thicker Hotchkis sway. I think I'll revert to the OEM nut which is thinner, and re-do the length of them with the car on ramps again.
