I've thought of doing this too - what problems would the (plastic) grill cause? It's radar, it goes through plastic/composites just fine. See: radome (nose) on every airplane bigger than a cessna.

I was wondering the same thing actually, It might actually work just fine without cutting the grille. Maybe I should go give it a test before I do the final cuts on the grille. Should be easy enough to test, when the sensor is blocked it pops up SENSOR OBSTRUCTED on the cluster.

Thanks, I will give those a try. Maybe they are willing to separate the grille itself, that would be good.

I'd like to know if you try it. I'm considering a retrofit if I can find a car in the salvage yard that has it, so I can get ALL the relevant parts and cross-reference the wiring too. Besides, would be a nice stealthy look.

I know ICC radars are super low power, and the grill plastic probably has carbon in the formula. But so do carbon fiber radomes on aircraft, and newer radar is much much weaker than the old stuff. (Old C130 radar = 65KW, new color weather radar = 25kw still good to 300+ miles).

Sport swap all bolted up, along with my freshly resealed headlights
Now I need to clean it up and remove all that while stuff from the grilles. Also I didn't cut the grille for the ICC sensor yet. I'll test it out tomorrow and hopefully it works behind the grille. That would be a nice stealthy look. Also need to put the clear bra on the hood and fenders.

Overall I'm happy with it. Especially since I painted it in my basement lmao.

I tried it out today, it doesn't work. Well, it does but only if you are VERY close to the car in front.... so I will need to cut the grille out for it now.

I would be very interested to see if it could be retrofitted. I'd imagine you need a whole harness, sensor, steering wheel, maybe ECU? maybe even the cluster....

Dropped my car off at Thaitanium Performance, partly to donate the car for some mock up and partly to get some more mods and a tune.

Did the final polish on my bumper. Looks like glass! makes the rest of the car look bad now.

I need to find a parts manual for the sedan. Then I could cross-reference part numbers.

Just installed the akebonos. I was on the fence about doing the bbk upgrade but I found a clean set locally for a steal and I’m loving how these feel!

Got my new p2m clamps for the intakes. Reused 2 old ones, and had to get 4 new 2.5" ones. Now I just need to clean the engine bay. Winter filthy still.

If that is "Winter Filth", my engine bay is atrocious. I know yours might not be clean enough for @Rochester to eat off, but it looks decent to me!

hexotic's engine bay looks fantastic! I love the matching matte finish on his mid-pipes and FSTB. I even like most of the blue accents. Not the large blue covers in back, or the blue relay box... really think those should be black again. And it would be great if his FSTB brackets were PC'd in the same finish as his P2M clamps. But overall it's a very appealing engine bay.

I haven't spring cleaned mine yet. It's due.
