Yikes! Future... that really sucks.

So, without track insurance it's all on you?

Yes, it's all coming out of the checking account. I can live with a moderate cost, just hoping it doesn't turn out to be completely destroyed. It looks like everything behind the bumper support up front is OK from what I can see, and hopefully the rear just needs a plunger and some aligment. Trunk opens/closes OK. We'll see.

Oh and for this track at least Tein Basis Zs are way way way too soft. I'd be scared to run bigger sways as the shocks can barely handle the coilover springs and shocks as is. Track ready G needs like 600/500lb springs, good shocks, and probably the widest tires you can fit out back. VSC was cutting in the whole time.

I think once I get it fixed I'm going to sell the G for a crossover or something and keep my speed outlets to karting and sim racing. I think I have run through my luck reserves between this and my motorcycle.
Ouch, that sucks! At least you are OK. Never good to see a G in that shape.

Interesting take on the 7AT I've heard others complain about it, I have the 5at and never had any trouble with overheating...I didn't realize it was that bad, i just thought it was frustrating b/c of how slow it was...Totally agree on getting the fattest tires out back though...up front for that matter too

Any theory on why the VSC quit working?

My 0.02 cents on this...the rear brake pads cooked/wore too thin...the VSC works with the rear brakes...if the pads are gone/too thin it shuts down...or at least that was my experience with the non-akebonos...

I follow that theory. In the process of replacing my brakes. The VDC came on because my rear pads are worn out, topped up the fluid and it went away. He did just replace his pads tho no?? But also mentioned traction control was cutting in a lot during the first two sessions

good point, if he changed his pads recently to something decent they should have still been ok..I did a track day on crappy pads once on EBC reds that were almost new...the rears were destroyed by the end though...braking was till solid, but the pad materiel was almost completely gone... I wonder if it was boiled brake fluid ...I would still suspect its brake related just based on my limited knowledge of the VDC system...

Yes if VDC was on that much they would be worn out, or the fluid could have gone low from overheating... or a combination of the two.

I changed all the pads about a month ago. They were fine.

Got the call from the collision center. Total loss. Car has frame damage. $20K track day. Going to see what I can get for it as scrap. If anyone wants my wheels/tires I'll let them go for $1000. I also have an uninstalled Y-pipe and silicone intake tubes.
