Yea, this is a huge fail. I keep my portable jump pack in the trunk and realized this once my battery died. I had to open the passthrough in the back seats and crawl through there.
Sedans only have the small armrest pass through, so no crawling through. I tried unsuccessfully to roll the car down the driveway and pop the clutch--nope.
There's a glow-in-the-dark release handle that you can hook onto from the pass-thru. It's at arm's length, though, so it's pretty awkward to hook and pull down. However, there's very little tension necessary to pull down and unlatch the trunk.
I think if you experiment a little, you'll figure it out.
Pretty easy to pop the clutch in this car, although easier to do in 2nd gear than 1st. But for it to work, you have to have the ignition engaged so the whole dash is ready, not just the radio. In other words, if the battery is dead, no clutch poppin for you, Lego.
Melophile, sorry to see that, hope it's either minor and can be fixed back to new condition or major and you can get a good settlement. Keep us posted.

Yeah, that's what I did. I keep them in the net thing.
I learned back in 1996 that an EFI-engine MUST have some juice in the battery to start. No juice, no fuel pump. No fuel pump, no fuel. No juice, no injectors will fire. I wore myself OUT trying to push start my little Sentra SE-R with a dead battery before stopping to think.
