Finally got these back from powder coating, it's kind of hard to tell but they're a gun metal/grey with a subtle flake in there... Can't wait to get them on next week!
I really like the later gen coupe wheels. Most people gravitate to the older design, so the newer wheels look unique
First off I'd like to thank this site and YouTube for making this easy. Finally got the fronts on. I'm on a budget so I'll do the rears this fall or so. It was actually pretty easy, but I did have trouble getting the rusted, fused rotors off. But of course, YouTube to the rescue.
This worked like a champ without trying to beat the crap out of the rotor. The brake bleeder I got from Harbor Freight worked well also, when I finally got an airtight seal. It came with a lot of attachments I didn't need but maybe I'll use them one day. Sorry about the pics, they flipped on me.
Has anyone investigated if the Akebono brakes use a different master cylinder? All those pistons might use more fluid than the standard brakes and proportioning might differ, too. Which could make piecemeal upgrades problematic.

I'm going with the Continental extreme contact sports, 245/40/19 all around on my X. I've seen a lot of other guys on here seem to be happy with them so far, so I figured I'd test them out as well... I can't wait to feel the difference of a higher quality wheel/tire setup as compared to the stock 17's with all seasons

There are two non-sport master cylinders -- D6010JK30A and D6010JK02D. The sport master cylinder is D6010JK02A. I have no idea what the differences are.

I tried to research this back when I was installing my Wilwood set, the biasing is the same but using the non-sport MC will result in a bit more pedal travel, I believe the braking performance was very similar however. I think it was from one of the Z sites that provided that info, but it's been a few years since I did that so ??? Also not sure what the differences are between the two different non-sport MCs. Possible that one is for the non-sport coupe, and another for the non-sport sedan since the front calipers are different for those sets (but they both use the same rear calipers).
I would assume the sport brake master cylinder to use a somewhat larger piston since there is more fluid to move and the larger piston would reduce pedal travel to some degree.
For those who don't know, for a given slave cylinder diameter, the smaller the master cylinder diameter the easier it is to move the slave though at expense of longer travel of the master.
Tried out the Nanoskin Autoscrub synthetic clay mitt that I ordered, and Collinite 476s wax. Got to see its effectiveness with water within the day . Thought about posting a review on the mitt but it doesn't seem like anyone uses the detailing review page.

Where did you get the clear bra for the lights, and how hard was it to install? Mine are faded.... but I haven't bothered polishing them out yet since I know they will fade again without a clearcoat or clearbra overtop.
