Did my lights myself for the cost of a couple cans of spray paint and the STiR lenses, cost about $100 and a weekend (just because I didn't want to rush it into a long day job). It's not hard except the initial breaking of the light cover seals once you get them baked in the oven. The trick is just getting it started in one small section, then prying the seal loose when it's warm (it's no problem putting them back in the oven if they cool a bit).

If you can find the 2010+ lights used on ebay you can save a bunch if you're wanting a 2010 update to a 2nd gen 2007-2009.

Coltrane1, you are correct. The roughly $3,000.00 price tag included everything you need for the whole conversion. Front sport bumper, headlights and all.

Also, like these guys offering any answers to questions you have, I'd be happy to help you too. It is a little intimidating at first. But once you find that lower edge and start pulling (it takes some muscle), then you'll know you're in the clear. In my opinion it was harder to seal it back up the right way, compared to breaking it apart.


I took all the left over butyl glue from the factory out of the channels, and replaced it with Morimoto's butyl glue from "theretrofitsource.com"

The key is to take your time, start from the bottom inner portion of the light (that's where I found it was the easiest to start unsealing), where the turn signal is, and slowly start pulling apart from there once you get a good grip on the lights.

Ok, I was part of the square club but had to get back to fat, went from 245/45/18s all around to 285/40/18s in back all on 18x9.5 +38s

Thanks John, I just drove around enough to confirm clearance, I'll be sure to give some driving impressions when I get them broken in. The fit at the fender is just about like my 295s on my 10+45s, so very happy with that

Hoping someone can help ASAP. My car is at the shop getting the Whiteline differential bushing installed. But my mechanic just called and said what's causing the noise/issue is that the "hydro mount" is failing. He said he can replace the bushings that I brought in, but that it would not replace the failing/leaking hydro mount and that I would still have the same problem. The only way to fix that is to replace the entire rear subframe (per Infinity). $1,300.

This shop has been 100% honest with me on multiple cars up to this point, so I believe what he's saying. But it's going against everything that you guys have said about swapping out the differential bushings.

Is there a separate replacement for this "hydro mount" that he's talking about?

Hydro-mount? Do you think he's referring to the main diff bushing, which is fluid filled? The Nissan/Infiniti approach to this problem is to replace the entire sub-frame, because cutting out the main bushings is a messy PITA.

I called Z-1 and they confirmed their kit has all three bushings, including the rear one that replaces the OEM silicone one. That's what my shop said was missing. I call the shop back and explain this, and he notices that the rear mount is still in the bag, he'd taken everything out except for that. Wow. Thanks for the heart attack, dude!

Yikes! You could have been out $1,300 if you didn't make that phone call to Z-1!

I knew something didn't sound right, and as much as I trust them I wasn't going to fork over $1,300. I'm just glad that I read through the numerous threads and posts on this. Pretty cool how helpful this forum is.
