Thank you sir!

I'm just waiting for the paint to dry and then I'll be able to take some nice azz shots

Liam, you freaking lurker. You need a build thread.

This here looks about as perfect as could possibly be:

Thanks, John. And I'm too effin lazy to make a build thread; I prefer my 1 post a month routine

I've had the Borla's for about 2 months, but just had them installed 3 weeks ago. I flat blacked the cans today. I can't leave my exhaust alone, but I think I'm finally done. The final specs on my Frankenstein exhaust are: FI RHFC --> Tanabe Y-Pipe with outlet modified to fit --> 2.25in Magnaflow Tru-X Pipe Muffler --> 2.25in custom mid-pipe with 22" long MBRP Resonators --> 2.25in Borla Boomer 40060 Mufflers with ebay oval tips.

Can't wait to hear that. I've been advocating for years for someone to custom fab a Borla setup. Are you happy? Tell me about it. Better yet, video.

Now I understand why you were interested in that exhaust rev line-up video. I hope you follow through on that this August. Should be all kinds of fun.

Well, considering how much time and money I've spent changing the exhaust, "happy" might be too strong a word. I'll say I'm satisfied.

Here's the only clip I have; I'll a get better one, eventually.

22" resonators? Did you have to find a mandrel bender for the custom exhaust work? This is an option I am considering sometime next year to upgrade my Tanabe, but I don't know of many shops that can do mandrel bending. Most exhaust shops do "crush bends".

Every shop uses a mandrel to bend pipes. It's the nature of the business. You have to ask for non-crush bend pipes. Been there, learned a hard lesson.

I could've sworn a mandrel bender machine costs like $50,000 and only some shops have them. Unless there's another way? Don't wanna hijack this thread soooo... Today I drove over 550miles (NJ to NC) with my G, creeping towards 50k miles on a 2012... Wooo

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tube_bending

This sez I'm wrong. I guess the shop lied to me when the said they could do mandrel bends.

My exhaust has mandrel bends, but my shop doesn't have a mandrel machine nor does it need one. All my shop does is order the mandrel bent piping it needs from Vibrant: Vibrant Performance .

Our exhaust system doesn't require complex bends, so most off the shelf mandrel bent tubing will do the job.

Ahh I never thought of that, thanks for clarifying!
