With matching red leather would have been my choice
This one. Matching perforated black leather on the sides, black non-perforated alcantara leather at the top and bottom, but with a single 12:00 strip of Monaco Red, to match his seats, and with gray or black stitching.

Could you imagine that setup in R1cky's car? I can.

I washed and waxed her, but then I scratched her. I was thinking the noise in the rear area might be from the trunk, so I was checking the spare tire. I took out the jack kit and stupidly, I moved it a little too vertically. The jack fell out and hit the bumper. It isn't too big of a scratch, but being that the car is nearly flawless after 5 years, 2 owners and 158k miles, I am so mad at myself.

That's the worst... damages you're responsible for....

I parked my car outside this summer for an afternoon while I cleaned the garage. When done, I simply parked it back inside and left on a 10 day work trip followed up with a week at the cottage. When I finally got around to driving it again, I pulled it out to find pine sap hardened on the hood and bumper. Tried removing it with Goo-Gone... no dice. Took it to a professional detailer, who got it off along with four chunks of paint.

Pine Sap has acidic properties that eat into the paint if left untreated. A simple look over before parking it would have saved me the headache and upcoming expense of getting paint work. Luckily, my car is MW and I can easily touch up the spots.....

So the mod bug has bitten me! Sorry in advance. The pictures are lacking because it's been raining all weekend in Houston and my car is filthy.

As I said last week I bought some Diode Dynamic LEDs. The interior lights were a breeze to install. The Exteriors... not so much. Can't say I'm a DIY car guy but removing the air boxes wasn't that easy for me, particularly on the passenger side. But, none-the-less I got them out to change the turn signals to the switchbacks... which I somehow managed to install BOTH sides crooked in the housing and the bulbs are at an angle... so I have to fix those. I REALLY don't know how that happened being that they went in and turned and locked like normal. Hopefully now that I know where they're at I can get to them through the wheel wells.

The resistors turned out to not be as easy as the video made it seem on DD. First I couldn't figure out which of the three wires was what on the front turn signals. Found on another thread that I could just install them on the rear signals (which has just 2 wires) and they still work. But the combo of the short wires and awkward positioning made it kinda difficult for me. but like I said, I'm somewhat of a rookie at all of this... but gotta start somewhere.

The parking lights... I thought it would be cool to stick with amber up there to have some contrast from the white light of the HIDs and the switchback DRLs. But the LEDs dim pretty dramatically and turn almost red after being on for a while. When I first turn the lights on they are bright, but dim and even if I turn the lights off and back on they stay dim until the car has been off for a while. Not sure what's going on with those. But its bad enough that I want to take them out and and put the stock bulbs back in. Pics below. I'll be contacting DD today about this.

Forgot to take pics of the switchbacks, but you all know what they look like.

I also got my wheels on. Went with Doss FF1's. Got them for pretty cheap on the Black Friday special. $700 shipped. Went with 19x9.5(+35) all around. Tires are 245/40/19. Its a bit stretched for my tastes but I can deal with it. And the offset provides a little poke. I am still up in the air if I'm going to drop it (Most likely on Swifts). But with a drop I think I would qualify to post in the Hella Flush thread.

Not digging the center caps. Gotta see if I can find some silver Infiniti logo caps that will fit.

Now the tragedy of all of this... again goes back to me being a rookie. But I didn't know the little bolt between the studs on the hub on the front wheels was just there to help with removing rusted on rotors. My new wheels wouldn't fit with it on and wrestled with that for a good while and was thinking that the wheels weren't going to fit my car. So in the midst of my frustration I left the wheel and tire standing with out leaning it against something and while my back was turn it rolled... and OF COURSE fell on the face of the rim! And the stretch of the tire renders the tire protecter useless. Luckily its not TOO horrible. But yeah, my lack of experience caused a lot of stress and frustration this weekend. But my car still works and I learned some new things so I do feel a little more confident doing work on my car.

I would definitely talk to Diode Dynamics about the parking light issue. I have amber LEDs from them for my parking lights also and they do not change color. They're usually very fast and courteous with customer service.

Installed the snow wheels today. We already had our first snow this past sunday, almost 6" in my area!

The michelin pss that came off had about 7 1/2 to 8/32's left after 6300 miles. At this rate, should good for at least another 10K miles. I didn't measure the fronts. We'll see how much is left this time next year. I'll be a happy camper if they get at least 20K.
