I wonder... what if you took your lock nuts to a powder coater?

I was thinking about getting them anodized. Should be more durable than powder. If that's feasible then I'd probably get the entire set done together so they match.

I'm no physicist, but I don't think you can effectively anodize steel, or chrome plating over steel.

I was of the asumption that these are steel under an aluminum cap.

But probably not the locks though.

All I know for sure is that someone needs to make some lug nut options for these wheels.

Edit: I just checked the fine print on the eBay listing and even though it says aluminum on the main description, it says that these are not capped.

Oh well. Back to searching.

These are nice... although chrome. What I like about them is the flat-top (like Toyota), instead of the domed top, like the OEM nuts that we're used to.

20pc OE Mag Style Lug Nuts with Washer 12x1 25 for Nissan Infiniti Chrome | eBay

No wait... those *are* the factory nuts. I've got one in my hand right now. Hmm. Interweb shopping fail, LOL

So you think these are aluminum covers over stainless steel? Could be. It's the first I've heard that.

An-n-n-n-n-d... that's it. You need a build thread.

Nope. I was wrong. They are steel all the way.

I do need to start a build thread. Been meaning to.

Great wheel choice Dembflyr! really goes well with your car color. I was able to find some old pictures of my M35 wheels and lug nuts that were powder coated. The black lug nuts really went well with the Matte Anthracite semi-gloss. just to give you an example of black lug nuts....

I bought some orange Rays Lug Nuts to try and match my calipers. While it's not a 100% match, I think it's close enough. However, the jury is still out on whether or not I want to keep them on.

Do colored lug nuts constitute RICE?

Good to know. I didn't think powder would hold up on lug nuts.

If it is then serve me up a bowl cause I like it.

If I had aftermarket wheels I might try the same.

Up close, like in this photo, I like them a lot. Back away and look at them in the context of the whole car... and yes, they're very ricey.

I think there doesn't have to be one answer as to whether or not you keep them, Liam. Wear them for a while, then switch them out for something else. Look at it like owning more than one watch, or earring or whatever. And I'm actually serious; not trying to make a lame joke.

I've always wanted to get a second set of lug nuts. There's a metallic bronze set of WORK lug nuts which I've been interested in for years now.

Words of wisdom right there. Makes sense. Colored lug nuts are not something you expect to see on an entry level luxury sports sedan; stock or not. However, had my car been, for example, an STi or most any Honda and you might find it acceptable and befitting. Of course, this is just my opinion.

And I actually put these on two weeks ago, so I may try a more neutral color.

Nice.
Do you rinse-foam-rinse or do you use a bucket and mitt after you foam it?
