Agreed. As a general rule, you incur debt for things you need, not things you want; (i.e., car, house, education, medical expenses, etc.) Granted, we all gold plate the things we need, and figure out rationalizations so it morphs into things we want. Human nature is weak, blah blah blah.

However, if someone is offering you zero percent financing in a plan that fits your monthly budget (assuming you have a monthly budget), then go for it. Interest free loans are free money as long as you don't default.

Otherwise, hell no.

Theres an ARK grip in the private classified for sale right now for $850 . That's how much I sold mine for about 7 months ago . But yeah, I ran the ark and I loved it . Sold it for the Motordyne tho and haven't regret it since.

Before I look more seriously into the one for sale in the classifieds, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe there may be a difference in ARK exhausts for X vs. NonX Gs. His is not an X model and I have a '13x. Would it still fit?

i am not 100% sure but if you go their website, https://www.arkperformance.com/ARK-G...7-15)-grip.htm, it says "Infiniti Q40 (G35/G37) Sedan (07-15)
3.5,3.7, AWD/RWD
ARK GRiP Collection (Cat-back Exhaust)"

So I would think so but I am not 100% sure

I have not seen an Ark in person, but the OBX (grip) exhaust looks and feels like quality to me. I suppose a good length of time will tell. I installed it and couple days ago and fitment was perfect without any modification.

I'll post some videos and pics soon... although I'm sure there are many posted already. BTW, I have the exhaust paired with Berks HFCs and I think it sounds perfect.

I can afford to buy either exhaust outright, can I justify it, ehh...lol.. The deal is on EBAY and I could use pay pal. In the end I think Id end up paying $160 dollars in interest. I don't see that as a bad deal. The ARK is $1393, Id pay $1562. I could pay it off quicker as well, theres no way Id default, as far as the comparison between the 2 I do like the deeper sound of the ARK..The OBX would cost me $800 basically...decisions...Thanks for the feedback !!

Well, at least you're doing the math, so your eyes are wide open.

In the context of setting fire to $160 for this project... is your current exhaust damaged or failing somehow? Or is this purely something you want now, can't afford, and are willing to pay $160 premium in order to make it happen?

Its more of a want, the exhaust is in decent shape, where the Y pipe hooks into the cats, their getting a little rusty. Right now I have the HKS axle back, could probably sell that for at least $200. there just some rattles here and there, I do believe the flex pipe has a hole, on both sides, would just like the exhaust to sound and flow better

The usual complaint I hear in regards to the Ark is the drone. While the OBX and Ark share the same characteristics, I'd imagine the drone is comparable between the two. In my experience, eBay exhausts develop surface rust much quicker and don't look as nice after a wash compared to a name brand system. Mag polish fixes that though. Only other issue I've read about for the OBX system is the welds are iffy. Holes and leaks throughout that require patch work fixes.

yeah I hear the gaskets aren't great, that you need to seal them as well, not something I want to beat myself up for picking budget over quality
