Straight Pipe Alternatives

Right now I have an HKS Axleback on my sedan and am looking for a way make the sound coming from the exhaust louder. I have heard straight pipes will make it louder but I know they are illegal because they replace the catalytic converters. Any ideas for alternatives to straight pipes but that will also enhance the loudness of my axleback?

Take the resonators out, or get the 12" Vibrant resonators. Videos of both setups on the last page.

High flow cats or test pipes

How much louder would replacing the stock resonators with the vibrants make the car with no mufflers?

No mufflers is very loud. I've heard it in person and didn't like it. A lot of videos of that on YouTube too.

Yeah I got a muffler delete already, I was just asking how it would sound if I replaced the stock res with the vibrants?

Oh I see. Hmm not sure. The stock resonators are 19" I believe. the Vibrant's are 12" and straight through. The stock piping is 2" though and the Vibrant is 2.25" You'd probably get a lot of rasp if you had different diameters throughout the exhaust like that.

I'm only guessing, I'm no expert with this. Some of these other guys are like scientists lol, I'll defer to them.

I have 2.25" piping with vibrant resonators with no rasp at all.

Above pic shows the stock resonator next to the vibrant. My brother is still fabricating the mid pipe for me. Can't wait to try it once its done.

Will do. It'll be awhile as he's on the West Coast and I'm on the East coast.

This exhaust set-up was by far my favorite of any of the multitude of exhausts I've had on the car so far. I didn't have any rasp or drone when I had this set-up, but it also had the stock mid-pipe/resonators which definitely helps to minimize any rasp/drone.

I took another video, more of a pass by. My son's account, I appreciate his vote of confidence with the video title lol.

Custom 2.25" piping from the cats back, Tanabe mufflers, resonator delete.
