damn. Seems it’s about half the case. I went with the z1 y pipe and that one is very high quality.

Need some pointers with my current setup!!
I am just running a muffler delete with new piping at the moment but looking to increase volume/crackles and pops.
Currently debating on going with berks resonated TP and then if this was too obnoxious for my early morning
startups i could install something like a magnaflow 11386 muffler in place of the stock Y pipe

How should i approach this??
(TLDR: I need more character to my exhaust as just the muffler delete is not cutting it)

I finally had some nice weather to get a video of the Fast Intentions catback! I included a lot of comparisons with my near-stock setup for reference. Not sure why the video itself isn't embedding into the post rather than just the link, so if a mod could fix that, that would be great!

[edit: FTFY]

Mods before FI catback:
- Takeda Long Tube Intakes with separate filters
- Z1 HFC
- Megan Y pipe
- OEM midpipe and mufflers

Current mods with the FI catback:
- Takeda Long Tube Intakes with separate filters
- Z1 HFC
- Fast Intentions 2.5" catback with 18" resonators
- Hotchkis Sways

HUGE improvement! I know that sound. I love that sound.

It will sound only better with high-flow cats.

Oh yes, it is so much better than the raspy mess that was on the car before. I was just surprised that even with the Z1 high flow cats, there is ZERO, and I mean ZERO rasp with the car now! The Z1 HFC's may as well be test pipes for as little catalyst material as they have, but the catback does a great job of soaking all that up. The first time I went WOT in the car with this setup, it made my face hurt because of how hard I was smiling. I am VERY happy with this purchase!

Right, right... you already have the Z1 HFC. I glossed right over the acronym. My bad.

Congrats on a solid upgrade, Fridge. You've gone full muscle car with your Japanese 4dr, LOL.

G37x 2010 Sedan (I am doing this build in a series of stages, Currently car is in stage 1)

Stage 1 - Muffler delete with 2.5" pipe back to 4" tips

Stage 2 - Mid pipe & Y pipe removal, all new 2.5" pipe installed with 2 17930 Vibrant resonators as mid pipe going into a 11386 magnaflow resonated x pipe replacing the y pipe and making exhaust true dual.

Stage 3 - Finally once the custom cat back is done being fabricated the berk resonated test pipes will be added to finish off the build.

Let me know what you think about this setup! I wanted something custom and this seems like a cool unique build i think the exhaust note will be about x2 the volume of current muffler delete but hopefully with a little less drone/rasp

I think you are making a good choice going with 2.5" piping and 18" Vibrant resonators to help cut down on the rasp. Looking forward to sound clips, that thing is going to be LOUD.

I had a Hyper medallion on an old honda of mine's and I absolutely loved it.

Take some pictures! My Y-pipe is leaking and I'm debating between matching my test pipes and the Y-pipe outlet or having a custom X-pipe gow ith my system.

Currently running ISR Resonated Test Pipes, Stock Y-pipe, Vibrant 1790 resonators on stock mid-pipe, and Tanabe Medallion Axlebacks. I never intended to do test pipes but my cats went out

I could not stand it anymore so i took of axle-back and put original back.
I will relocate flex on ypipe and add two more Vibrant 1792 resonators...
If that will not help with drone.... next step Helmholtz resonator ....
Blast from the past, I know, but I see that you're still active on the forums.

What did you end up doing to eliminate the drone? I also have a lot of drone from 1500-3000.

I have your exact setup except I have the Motordyne Resonated XYZ pipe. I don't want to cut into the Motordyne XYZ pipe. Did you end up cutting into your y-pipe like you mentioned?

I was planning on keeping the Tanabe axle-back but adding Vibrant 1143 Ultra Quiet resonators to the Tanabe mid-pipe between the resonators that come on the mid-pipe and the Tanabe mufflers:

Yes, I did cut my y pipe and mid pype, My exhaust have more resonators than actual piping On top of that I made multi chamber Helmholtz resonator.

I wasn't intending this for sound but since I haven't made a sound video for my new setup yet this will have to do.

ebay headers, thaitanium test pipes, and thaitanium hvr. I might take the rear resonators off since it has resonators on the test pipes as well as the ypipes and seems like over kill.

Sounds good to me. A little ricey, but still scary. I'm impressed.

What's the random bottle for? Something to eyeball when returning to your camera?

Just random garbage lol. I live in Milwaukee and it's very much like most major cities, full of litter. Also this a parking lot for Miller Park so people probably leave their tailgating trash .

I see! Did you get the sound you were looking for? So where exactly are all your resonators now?
