Who regrets modding their car?
I've seen this a few times recently, people saying they have regrets modding their car. Objectively, I understand the sentiment, and there are certain mods that I have issues with. But overall this idea of regrets for modifying the car...
I just don't get it.
So for some perspective, I thought a poll would be interesting. Feel free to rant, defend, lament, whatever. I'm just kind of curious what people will write.

I don't regret my mods because my car does look good, but I do wish I left it stock since I spent so much on basically oem parts. My biggest regret is not buying a 6mt. Although I will say I don't regret the coilovers because they make the car ride incredibly well. Eh I guess I just am bored with this car and it's sort of poor quality fora luxury car, but I was previously spoiled by a flawless Lexus.

In any event, my vote is #4... I started in on the car as soon as I bought it (four years ago), and have plans to continue for the next five or six years before moving on. Since I only drive about 5,000 miles per year, I think this is actually a reasonable plan.
Plus, I'm old. So I'm pretty patient about stuff like this. Unless I'm waiting 14 weeks for an exhaust to show up, LOL.

no regret here. I have access to a full blown mechanic shops with lift to do any repairs or maintenance. Modding make my driving experience for fun and enjoyable. As long as you do your homework properly, what parts to get and how does it affect your car, how to install them, you will be fine. i don't think that there's anything on my car that's stock, beside the leather seat lol.

i chose C. for the first few years of ownership i let this site get to me and did a bunch of subtle mods. some cosmetic, some mechanical. i have thoroughly enjoyed the process, from research to DIY installations and then enjoying the finished product. at this point i am settled on where i'm at. except for finishing the vinyl overlay of the window trim. i got started last year - did the lower strip either side - but still need to finish. after almost 6 years of ownership part of me has moved on to the next car (TBD) but i do enjoy the G and take a lot of pride in keeping it looking sharp, and slightly different than stock units.
at work i park right next to an '07 Blue Slate G35X. Besides the similarity in overall body shape and colour, it is immediately obvious that our cars are not alike. the guy next to me, who is not a 'car guy', has asked about some of the differences that even he picks up. plus i doubt he's ever washed his ride. my car when detailed sitting next to his is a completely different beast.
the one "regret" i had was the Eibach ProKit springs, which were put on by the previous owner. as much as i loved the stance and ride i just couldn't get past the practical concerns of scraping on speed bumps and driveways. maybe it was just my region or commute characteristics, but it seemed to be a daily 'grind' especially with passengers. i switched out the Prokit for Eibach F/R sways and have loved the results. it was a shame since my former '04 G35 6MT sedan had the famous 350Z spring swap which never caused me any concern so i had hoped for a similar result.

I have no regrets about any of my mods and plan on continuing to do them. If you don't like a mod, particularly, change it to one you do or re-set to OEM 'till you have a better perspective.

Only regret I had about my mods was that I sold the car about 3 months after I finished everything on the list (Uprev tune, RHFC, Invidia catback, spacers, wheels & tires, full stereo overhaul, midnight grille, Stillen gen3, Hotchkis sways). Once those were done, I reached the "what now" point and got bored with it.
