Advice needeed

My car is at the collision center, I'm suppose to get it back today later this evening, the tech told me that the front bumper and headlight were all after market but when I got the car the dealer said the car was not involved in any accident according to car fax. the tech said something did happen to this car.

what can I do or legal recourse??

Not sure what legal recourse, Carfax definitely misses many accidents as a lot aren't "officially" reported from guys doing repairs for cash, insurance companies dropping the ball and not reporting, etc.
If you have an family, friends or contacts in the law profession it wouldn't hurt to ask. Have you contacted the dealer that sold you the car yet?

If it wasn't reported to Carfax, how would the dealer know? Many repairs are performed independently & not reported. I don't think you have a case here unless it was bought new.

I will go see them tomorrow night when the car is ready, the infiniti dealer is right beside the collision center. My only concern is that the dealership changed name they were bought by Myers, the salesman that sold me the car is still there and he guaranteed me that there's was nothing wrong with the car. The car was a CPO and was inspected. My concern also is that I didn't pay what the car was really worth at that time.

What makes something wrong with the car now? There are tons of cars on the road with aftermarket parts that never have an issue. It's not like they'd be removing every panel when they inspect the car for CPO status to see if it's OEM or not. I personally don't see what the issue is, as the parts obviously didn't fit incorrectly or bother you when you bought it.

I understand your point but its an infiniti that I bought one of the best brand out there and what I paid for was probably not the real value of the car, I probably paid couple thousand more for it.

I do know a lot of car have aftermarkets parts but the car was about 3 years old when It was purchase from the dealer, and already it has after market headlight and front bumper etc... Even the tech said there's something not right.

To be honest I always thought there was something wrong with the front bumper even my friend was questioning me about it, but oh well.

If you bought it CPO it comes with the Carfax guarantee. Meaning if you can prove it was in an accident not reported by them, they will buy back your car at full price you paid for up to 3 years after purchase. I would contact both the dealer and Carfax and have the collision center write exactly what they believe (that it was in an accident) and have it notarized. Those would be my first steps

Why was it at the collision center? Just getting it checked out? It may have been in a minor accident, who cares. You really want to know if the frame was compromised. Structural damage...If not then probably no big deal plus your carfax is clean.
If there was a problem with the structure the dealer knew it, they look at the cars when they take them in and typically sell nothing with structural damage. Will take a lawyer probably ....

Legal recourse? Seems to me you're keeping the car, and it now has an accident record. I suppose that means a quantifiable depreciated value, but difficult to nail down and seek recompense.

Another take on this is that CPO adds about $1000 to the car, which is typically baked into the resale value. In other words, you didn't explicitly spend $1000 extra as a line item, but it's there nonetheless.

So not only are you in the hole from accident depreciation, but the cost of getting a CPO car was pointless. I can see why you'd want some kind of satisfaction here, but am highly dubious you will ever get it.

CPO is a scam. I've been saying that for years.

I got my baby back after waiting for 3 full weeks and it still drive amazingly

So I spoke to the tech and requested to see the front bumper, he took me to the back where it was on top of all the other bumper. I looked at the front bumper and it was a real one, its an OEM but the headlight were probably not, according to those pic there's no Nissan logo on it but they were made in Japanese.

He did mention that there's 2 wires on each side of the bumper, he said they might be for fog light. Someone was trying to install fog light in the front bumper guess that will save me sometime when I do the conversion.

I walked to the dealer and spoke with the salesman who sold me the car about the issue. He tried carfax but he said that it didn't work so he moved to another computer and printed out the history form carproof instead. He did say that they didn't know what happen.
He did mention that probably someone paid to get it fix but didn't claim it bla bla bla.
When you look at carproof the car was auction does that mean the car was repoed?

After pictures are posted. Do you guys know if its possible to have the master switch window repaired somewhere??

You should speak to the dealer again if you're truly worried. I don't believe you have any legal recourse in this matter for the fact stated in previous posts, that not all accidents are reported to CARFAX. But the only issue I think you may have is that in the future, god forbid, if you ever get into an accident insurance may not cover certain parts if they are aftermarket especially headlights unfortunately because they are pretty expensive from the dealership. You should be persistent if you have any questions or worries and go back and try getting a CARFAX. I've never dealt with CarProof but when it comes to purchasing a vehicle I only trust CARFAX for obvious reasons. You should look into it a little bit more. Keep us posted with what happens and best of luck!
