Squeaky brakes at very low speeds

2009 Sedan 6MT 46k miles.

At VERY low speeds like backing out of a parking space or stopping in line at a drive through my brakes squeak enough to embarrass me. Not everytime but enough to be a problem. Higher speeds or with everyday driving, stop lights, stop and go on the freeway, nothing.

Had them inspected at Les Schwab. Pads are at 5mm (50ish% life left and rotors are straight. It happens in wet or dry conditions and is driving me insane.

What else can I check or have inspected/replaced?

Common issue with the sport brakes... mine would squeak like crazy in the mornings enough to wake the neighbors... Noise was also magnified in the parking garage at work. Ended up getting new rotors and pads and now have zero noise.

Same exact problem with my coupe only happened in the mornings but I felt I was waking up my entire street it was beyond embarrassing to the point where I'd put it in neutral and do a slow roll but still once I tapped the brakes it felt like the 4th of July lol I'm currently upgrading my rotors and pads as well now at the shop so that better solve that problem or I'll be so pissed!

My non-sport G37 '11 doesn't squeak at all so it likely is a thing with the sport rotors

Thanks guys. it is extremely annoying and quite embarrassing but I guess I won't worry about it...... had zero intention of upgrading brakes but guess i'll consider it now.

I did read in the manual that they're designed to squeak under light braking as a warning to replace the pads, but you said yours had plenty of life left so not sure :/

It has to do with the sport brake pads, not the rotors.

Four-piston calipers tend to have this "feature". Mine do this only when cold. One stop is enough to make it stop.

Nope mine started within a year of owning the car.. 3 separate trips to 3 different dealerships all saying nothing was wrong.. plenty of pad left

i know the feeling.. it turns heads for the wrong reasons. As kennyz424 said, u find creative ways to avoid using the brakes which can be dangerous.. helps having a 6MT.

So problem solved. less than 2 months after buying the 2009 6MT Sedan I saw a 2013 CPO 6MT sedan but in White instead of Liquid Platinum. I drove it home Saturday night. no squeaking and now I can stream Bluetooth audio..... .sadly I lost ICC and the headlights turning when I turn the wheel. But also lost the stupid 4WS and the awful feedback it provided. Happy all around.
