MPG Has Decreased significantly

When i first bought my car in 2012 with 18k miles on it. I used to be able to set cruise control on 67/68 and average 26/27 mpg on my commute to work.

Now 70k miles later, same commute, same speed, im avg 20/21 mpg...

Anybody have a clue to why? Still using 93 octane, R2C filters look clean.

Anything i can do to increase my mpg?

Tire pressure, spark plugs and ECM reset come to mind to start with.

also, it might be time to clean out the throttle bodies and MAF sensors... very easy to do prior to the ECM/idle reset....

^ yes, unplug the top connectors and unscrew the small screws. Take out the MAF and spray with MAF cleaner (CRC MAF cleaner), let air dry then re-install. I do one at a time... Here's a video - different car but same concept.

You need a tune up then an ECM reset. Wouldn't hurt to clean the MAF, O2 sensors, throttle body and injectors as well. Doing all that will bring you back to 24-26 mpg.

I would suggest NOT messing with your throttle bodies. I cleaned mine and it made the car have a surging idle for like a week and a half until it finally relearend the positions. The car was nearly undrivable.

That's up to you. Your ECU will begin to adapt to how you drive. So if you drive it hard right after the reset for a while, you'll start to notice that your throttle feels more sensitive. Or vice versa, accelerate gradually and the throttle will lose sensitivity.
It's too bad you have to choose either or... Wish Infiniti would have just added a "Sport" mode feature like many newer cars to always have the best of both

Went on a little beat run, notice a little increase in throttle response. Set the cruise control on 80 in 7th gear(Manual Mode), on a little incline was recording 25 MPG sooo hopefully it will be atound 28 at 67

Yep, whatever % of ethanol is added will pretty much be how much less % mpg you'll get over non ethanol fuel. So if you were getting 30 mpg w/ non Ethanol gas you'll get 27 or less w/ a 10% Ethanol mix.

Also, are you using the dash mpg calculator or going by true mpg after going through actual gas used, it can be a dramatic difference sometimes.
