61 Month Old Battery Replace????
#32
I've had batteries last as short as 3 years and as long as 7 years. When a cell decides to stay open, it's near instantaneous.
AAA saved me a couple of times (hailing cars to help jumpstart in NYC is rough).
Anybody tried fitting an Optima YellowTop? Nothing like Max capacity!!

That's true. However, one usually pays a lot more for dealer replacement even with their warranty. By the time 3 years has passed, the prorated money is worthless when matched to the dealer retail price of the battery compared with a great aftermarket battery.

The date sticker is right in the center of the battery, see all of those little circles with numbers and letters? Number for year letter for months. Either your battery was replaced at sometime and the battery bar is hiding the removed stickers, or the stickers were never removed when the battery was installed in the car.

Those you speak of are up to the seller or purchaser to fill out. On the side of the battery, though, there is a manufacturer date sticker. I always look at these when buying a new battery. It's like the date codes on tires. You don't wanna buy something that already has several months of its shelf life missing, do you?
