Help! Push button stuck in ACC position

I was getting back into the car, put foot on brake and pushed start button and everything turns to the ACC position, GPS screen turns on, radio turns on, dash lights up and door ajar message comes on middle screen and starts to chime... and that's it... won't start and won't turn off... even when I close the door it still says door ajar and chimes as if the door is open. Had to walk to Target, buy a wrench and take the battery cable off... then it acted completely normal again... done this twice over the past few weeks. Dealership couldn't replicate it. Any ideas???

Maybe you need a new start button? I just happen to have one and they are super easy to replace. Takes 5 minutes tops.

When the trouble occurs, why not call AAA and have it put on a flatbed tow truck to the dealer?

I was thinking brake switch until the door ajar comment. However, the car should normally still start even if a door is open. Disconnecting a battery is a reset of sorts, so maybe just a glitch.

I've had a similar problem. Mines would turn to on but would never start. I had to throw it in drive and back to park and then it would let me start. Like the parking brake switch never registered. Happened twice so far since I bought it

I took telcoman's advice and had it towed to the dealer... it did it again this morning... I will keep you posted on the outcome. The lease is almost up and I had considered buying it since I have aftermarket exhaust, wheels, and Eibachs and I love the car, but now I'm considering just turning it in and leasing a new one.

If it's an AT, it almost sounds like a problem with the shift position sensor except that it won't turn off

Similar problem. Mines is stuck in the on position. Just bought mines from an auction site and was letting the locksmith program a set of keys for it but he couldn't finish the process because it can't turn back off. Any suggestion on things I may try

Hope you paid by credit card?

Return it to the auction and ask for your money back.

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

There is a TSB to correct that issue. Our G37 sedan did the same exact thing a couple times, no problems since.....

2011 g37x sedan won’t start

I have a 2011 Infiniti G37x , I went to the store came home & tried to drive the car two days later & there was water on the passenger side floor . It also wouldn’t start . It just gets stuck on the the on position but the car doesn’t start & hitting the start button it’s doesn’t go back to the off position unless you disconnect the battery . When the car is off It flashes the security indicator light even with the key in the slot . I changed the battery & brought a new positive battery post , still won’t start . Please help me with a solution if you can , I take care of my car , it has to be something minor like a rest or fuse change or something .

Since you said you had a water leak on the passenger side, I would take out the BCM with its cables and see if it's wet of any sort. If so, then dry it for as long as you can and try it again. Be sure to also track your leak while doing this.

Hey! Did you figure out what the issue was? I’m in a similar situation.
