Jacking a G37x sedan (No not boosting one)

Posting this here since it's more general Sedan stuff:

I've read the literature, etc.

But some experienced advice would go a long way. I am planning on changing out my wheels/tires and haven't used a floor jack on AWD. I don't to muff up any of the many and varied bits and piece under there. I have used floor jacks many times before, though.

So where should I place the hydraulic floor jack under the car?

Also, I am installing a new front chin spoiler and thought it would be easier to lift the whole front end so I don't have to crawl around on the ground so much. Naturally, I will be using jack stands and chocks for safety. Advice on stand placement would be much appreciated too.

(I don't currently own a jack but looking forward to a new toy )

Thanks a lot,
Sean

Now, any suggestions on a good floor jack?

What's worked for you? I had a craftsman for many years but my brother appropriated it...the bastage.

If you're planning on lowering your car you might be better off w/ a low profile model. I've had good luck w/ this low profile one from Harbor Freight, and can usually be had for $80 or less w/ coupon or sale deals.
3 ton Low Profile Steel Heavy Duty Floor Jack with Rapid Pump®
Also be sure to have a pair of jack stands too, if you don't get them you'll surely need them, lol. And they have a 3 ton set for $20 w/ coupons/sales

Thanks. I'm not going to lower it. Too much snow, believe it or not. Maryland keeps getting hit. That's one of the reasons I got an x.

We can't all enjoy the friendly confines of Crescit Eundo...

Thank you. Mine is on the way with a couple of floor jacks. Both were on sale but the coupon was only good on the floor jacks.

Two quick questions please:

1) Do you use a rocker panel pinch weld adapter with that jack to avoid damage?
2) Do you use any sort of pad on the disc that comes in contact with the car, again to prevent damage?

If so, where, what, when, parts numbers, and your Visa card number...LOL

Thanks,
Sean

(ps: If I ask you any more questions I'm going to have to take care of your next car payment, assuming you have one, if not, then I'm up to your mortgage...)

My craftsman is getting on 30+ years old and no change of oil. Going strong but weighs as much as my old RX7. I will get the LP HD one above when mine give out on me. Tired of luggin around my 2x10 home made ramps.

That looks pretty neat, but wouldn't the rails that lift the car pinch the fuel lines on our G's? Or either im looking at something wrong or it looks like the lines will lay right on the one the jack pushes the car into the air.

Place rubber blocks near the pinch welds. I work at a toyota dealership and when i put my G on a lift similar to that i used rubber blocks at each of the 4 pinchwelds to lift it.

We use rubber blocks for all suvs and trucks

I searched YouTube, after finding this, for any reviews and found quite a few that stepped through the unboxing, setup, and test usage. It comes with two different sizes of rubber blocks that you'd use at the jack points. This thing looks solid!

- In the last video, you'll find it around the 16:30 mark.

Oh boy!!!

A great new toy. I can even sell the expense to the family because it's safer than a floor jack and jack stands.

Thanks - Sean
