Removed Hood liner but the hood was really hot

After a little 10 minute drive to test out how hot my hood would be after removing the liner it was so hot i could not even keep my hand on it for 2 seconds. Now i live in tx so its 90's here so i don't know if thats the issue or not? But what do y'all think about this?

What are you trying to accomplish by removing it?

It looks better IMO. Also i heard that it traps heat and really does nothing for the car. Sounds a tad louder also.

2 Things.

It does make you worry about the long term affects to the paint on the hood.

370Zs don't come with hood liners.

So I'm not really sure.

I've been thinking about removing mine.

Looks better I guess but it's put there for a reason..... Don't see the point of removing it.

Two years ago, no issues, no regrets.
