30K Mile Service in a Toyota Dealership. What should be done?

Good morning everyone. My car now has 32K and is ready for service. I bought the car pre owned in a Toyota dealership and they told me all I need is an Oil change and some basic inspection such as tires and air filter check. The car did not come with an owners manual and I am just wondering what maintenance intervals should be done and is there any major servicing needed soon. The Infiniti Dealer is around 100 miles away and that is why I dont gp there. Thanks for your help in advance.

bluedevils95 : Yes, there is a Nissan dealer close by. As a matter of fact we just had my sister's Nissan oil change there. Is it a better idea to have my car serviced in Nissan than Toyota?

Yes. Infiniti = Nissan. Same parts, same basic architecture as the 370z. Or better yet, take it to an experienced trusted independent and save money.

Since our cars are made by Nissan, I'd say you'd be better taking it to a dealer that will be more familiar with it.

It would be better since they know the car. 370z is the same engine. I had my car serviced at a Nissan dealership once last year in Vegas when the infiniti dealership turned me away. (Long story). But Nissan knows more about the car then Toyota.

Generally for a 30K in a dealership they change your Air filters, Cabin air filter and do an oil and filter change. I so happen to work at a Toyota dealership and yes I service Nissans..time to time.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I did not realize that the G37 is pretty much a 370z with 5 seats. The reason why I bring it to the Toyota dealer is because they have a better reputation than the Nissan dealer but for my next service I will definitely go to Nissan. The next schedule is at 38k and I am at 33k. Does anyone know when some major service is needed? 100k maybe? The reason I ask is because I plan on keeping the car running 300k+ miles, I know I am crazy right but I am putting miles quick and is my only car lol.

Your Toyota dealership more than likely has the same ownership as the Nissan dealership. That's how it is where I work at least. The Toyota dealership I work at is in company with Nissan/Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler/Hyundai/Ford.

More than likely if the dealership is owned by the same people they will use genuine Nissan parts. Although when it comes down to the oil it will just be what Toyota has bottled up for 5W-30...if you run Synthetic Nissan does offer a special synthetic oil. Although where I am at our Synthetic 5W-30 is Mobil1.

Just follow your dealerships recommended service intervals and your car will be safe and sound. If you don't go under the hood too often ask the Service Adviser to tell the Technician to thoroughly inspect the fluids on the vehicle to see the current condition.

I did not know that! It is good to see that a lot of G37s have been reliable. I read some where that Toyota and Hondas (Lexus and Acura) are much more reliable than Nissan Infiniti and have a better chance of running till really high mileage. Anyway for my next service I will let Nissan know to thoroughly inspect my car and fluids! Thanks again everyone!
