New G37 owner - wind noise question
#16
I have a 2010 Journey Sedan with 94K on it. I bought it around 80K and the cabin was very quiet except the wind noise coming from the passenger side rear quarter window (the triangle shaped). I got the seal replaced for about $300 and the cabin was very quiet. Now after owning the car for almost a year. I started to hear wind noise and it sounds like its coming from each and every window. Very hard to tell. I am going nuts however, I think I have a possible culprit. A month ago or so, the driver side window did not raise up all the way to the top. It was less than half an inch low inside the seal. I noticed it because when the window rolls up properly streak of dirt that runs along the upper seal is not visible. So, I pulled the window up to properly shut it. There was a little play on the window, as if the bolts holding up the window are not tight. The window never dropped down since then but I am assuming that's when I start hearing wind noise. Today, I will use painters tape all around the doors and seals and have my wife tape the drivers side after I get in. I will drive the car on the highway. Then piece by piece I will have the painters tape removed. It is going to be a long day. I will report back.

I have heard it when I am going say 100mph and the wind is going at least 25 or so. It just makes me think, I might be going too fast. The interior could be a bit quieter, I hear something by the rear window sometimes, it makes me turn up the radio.
