Need advice: What could possibly result to this?
Yesterday when washing my brother's van, i noticed a sort of "shot gun bullet" size on the hood, I can't suspect anything but we've never had situation like this, also the neighborhood is very good - my brother was driving on freeway and he said he heard a huge bam,
what do you guys think? what could possibly can you think of?

Coming from a part time Detailer who has seen a lot of road debris damage, this has the looks of vandalism of some sort. Hard to say without seeing it in person.

How close was he driving to the car in front? Sometimes they spit out rocks and whatever things on the road from under its tire that can break windshields and damage body panels. Whatever speed debris flying at plus the speed of the car traveling can and will damage the car pretty bad.

Being on the top of the hood that would require so much downward force to create such well defined divots. I don't think any debris coming from the front would leave that damage in that pattern. If he was driving near the Sears tower and someone dropped a couple BBs from the top floor then maybe

But the vans hood is pretty vertical not flat like reg cars. And u see right above the dent where the glare is at...its rounded towards upward...which means it was traveling straight towards the van or slightly upwards. If someone did this on purpose...I'd check other cars in the neighborhood to see if any other cars have the same dents. Unless ur brother owe someone some serious $$.
And the object falling by gravity would travel at about 120mph. An object coming out of someones rear tires plus u driving towards the object would in fact be pretty close to 120mph if not higher.

It was a dark rainy night doing about 70 when something in the road hit my G.
I have no idea what it was.
Jersey devil perhaps?
