Same issue I am having. The only thing I can think of if a M3 that will still allow 6mt

How about a low-mileage, no-winters 2006 GTO? Very easy to mod, V8 power, RWD, total stealth in public, and extremely unique.

Or a 2009 G8 GXP. Supercharged V8 with a 6MT. Nothing like running a solid 13.0 second quarter in a two-ton sedan.

I know... Pontiac. But there's heritage in the nameplate, and they're really Australian anyway.

The GXP wasnt supercharged. NA 415 hp V8.

$40K is a tough price point. Not enough for a gently used CTS-V or M3. Barely enough to put you in a CPO S4.

If you liked the GXP the Chevy SS is supposed to get a 6mt and magnetic ride control in 2015 and is based off the same platform. That would probably be at the top of my list.

Wonder how long I've been under that misconception? Thanks, Lego.

Yeah, a 6MT SS is appealing, although suffering from the same bland styling that the GTO did.

Yeah, its a pretty vanilla car. I see a guy in my neighborhood replaced his GXP with an SS...maybe ill have some free time to chat him up some day.

The problem for me is a SS is pushing $50k. At that point I have to consider a second car to supplement my G. I need my kids to get older and start school so I dont need my nanny any more

Wow wasn't expecting this much chatter, but have been on her all weekend, got the intake, headlights, fogs, grille, and exhaust all taken care of this weekend so I feel good about that. Didn't get to the springs nor do I feel like messing with them. Been trying to price out having a shop do it but the prices I've been getting are almost not worth it. as for my car itself, I've actually only owned her a year and financed her so I will be trading her in. I plan on driving the G for years and years to come and at this point..as mentioned there is only a limited selection on 6mt sedans under 40k. I'm going to go for the 6mt and hopefully I will have good news to report here in about a week and 1/2. Appreciate everyone's input

NICE, good luck, my budget was about the same at $40K, same criteria too (4dr, 6mt, RWD/AWD), sport sedans are quickly becoming pacified, so the selection is getting slim.

If VALUE is at the top of your list, there is no option IMO. At the time I was shopping, my favorite car was the B8.5 S4, but it cost over $15K more than the car I bought. Really a no-brainer to me, but I can understand if others don't think so

With the 6MT sedan you'll drive a fun and well-equipped car with relatively low upfront cost, low maintenance and high reliability. Sure you'll miss out on some of the performance & prestige of the Euro counterparts, but those items cost big $$$ both upfront and long-term.

Bland is actually good. Around here flashy cars tend to get pulled over more so than run of the mill bland cars. I rather be the wall flower

Cool. There really are no wrong choices where you're at. I'm sure you'll enjoy the 6MT.

I get that. I'd rather look OEM-ish than modified to the casual observer. And I'd rather drive a bland-looking GTO than a Corvette.

I'm in the same boat - very seriously contemplating trading my black AWD sedan for a 6MT coupe in white or silver. I can't keep up with the black paint, and it's so disappointing how delicate the finish is.

I'm also disappointed with the reseale on my 7AT. Don't know if that's partially related to the new Q cars or just a crowded market or what.

My plan is to keep the car a long time too. Maybe I'll get a focus ST or such and with the money saved get another bike. I'll need two bikes though... One to tour on, one to play with. Another $40k!@# (in addition to cost of the car).
If you can compromise on the 4dr, a CPO Boxster 6MT can be had under $40k.

Rather a Cayman S, which could fit that objective, too; four years old and under $40k.

However... trunkless, friendless, unemployed in Greenland.

Compromise on a 4 door to not just a 2 door, but a 2 seater thats a heck of a compromise!

I need to fit in 2 car seats

a little bit of both but maily bc of the Q50 and having infiniti say they were done producing the G only to change their minds and continue with the G but LOWER the MSRP which in return hurt every person who bought a G prior to October-ish of last year. Theres a ton of G's around my area now in the 20-22k price range where before those same cars sold for 24-26k all day long
