Honestly if you have to worry about how much gas is costing you then maybe this isn't the car for you. You're not going to get great gas mileage out of the G. Some people are lucky enough to live with road conditions that allow them to achieve better milage than others. When I had my '09 I worked in the city and was averaging 13mpg, so I feel your pain, but I never expected anything over 25 mpg, even on the highway. With that said if you feel like you're driving conditions aren't adequately reflected in your mpg then take it to the dealership and express your concern and ask them if they can do a check up.

Now...if you were regularly getting 25mpg....then you started getting 15mpg on the same road same driving style same gas approx same temp same same etc...then I'd question what has happened. Otherwise - it is what it is...
Good Luck...

what is ~25MPG in a G anyways? is that even possible? -LMAO... but in all seriousness gotta say that sounds nice but for sure I am not driving my 6MT like a grandma, especially since peak power is at the top rpms, and another fact is that I didn't buy the car for MPG... If I was looking for MPG I would get a Prius..

I know I was being sarcastic... that's obvious when your on the highway and babying the throttle Once I was able to get 26 going like around 50-55MPH and that was right after I did the reset... other than that?I'll get nowhere close to 20 but do I look like I care? No, exactly

Those MPG's are pretty bad...I think. I do not baby my car...I should, but I do 90MPH-120MPH everytime I'm on the highway, maybe 2-3 times a week for an hour or 2 and I'm getting 19.5 MPG Avg. and I think my best avg was 24MPG, but that's when I drove it back form FL to MA when I bought it
Along with cleaning the throttle bodies, you could also go to your local auto parts store (I know Autozone has it and I'm sure every other auto parts place like Autozone) and get some Sea Foam or other additive for the gas system. It cleans out your gas system and is suppose to help with MPG's. I just used it and I got an extra MPG avg. and noticed a little less engine noise...but that could be a placebo effect. I heard the Techron gas additive is really good too, it's made by Chevron.
But like the others said, this car is not made to get good gas mileage. Just need to figure out what's more important to you, performance or MPG, I don't think there are any true performance cars that will avg 25+, but I could also be wrong. If I was buying a performance car and I didn't get awful gas mileage I would think it either isn't tuned right, it's not performance or I could have gotten a more performance oriented car.
But I do hope you figure out and solve your dilemma

But it does come down to how you drive it too. I work with a guy who leased a brand new Maxima. Nissan says the Maxima should get 19 city 24 hwy, I believe. He drives about 45 minutes to work everyday, some highway some city and avg's 28.3mpg. He says, he tries to get that gas mileage though. Drives slow in the city and as soon as he get's on the highway he put's it in cruise control set for 65 mph. How you drive is a big determining factor, age, mileage, road conditions, weather conditions, condition of the engine. But we all know that.
I think with mods it will be harder to get 25mpg, but that's what this thread needs to figur eout, are we talking about a modded car? And if so, what mods. I was under the impression the OP did not mod his car, but I could be wrong

I've got a 50 mile drive to work. I do 100 miles a day.
Best mileage on a tankful was on a return trip to NJ from Florida between St. Mary, Georgia (Exit 1) to Dillon, SC. 303 miles and it took 11.104 gallons for a 27.29 MPG.
I stopped using cruise control when someone posted awhile ago that you lose 1 to 2 MPG by using it. I found that to be true.
I did not buy an Infiniti for performance.
#1 reason was a stick shift
#2 reliability
#3 was comfort
$4 was features and amenities
