Steering wheel off center - Brand New 2013 G37
Hi all,
I bought a brand new G37 three weeks ago and my Steering wheel was off center right from the factory. I went back to the dealer and they did an 'all wheel alignment' but it was not fixed. So I went back and they did a 'Front wheel alignment' and it was fixed. However, after a couple of days later, steering wheel was off center again and when I took it back to the dealer they said, Rear wheel alignment was off and fixed it. Now the steering wheel is off again.
I have gone through older threads but could not find a solution. Would anyone of you happen to know what could be wrong with the car. I cannot believe that alignment can be off again since its been a few days since they did it and I did not hit any potholes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if you can do this but if it was me I'd take the car to a reputable alignment shop and have them fix or diagnose the alignment and set the steering wheel straight and then go back to the dealer to be reimbursed since it's a brand new car.
Again, not sure if you can do that.. Just some food for thought. Hope you get it worked out though man. Congrats on the new car and welcome to the forums!

Centering the steering wheel seems like a fairly straight-forward proposition. This has happened to me on a couple of previous cars, and both times a local gas station was able to fix the problem - permanently - in minutes.
Trying another dealer seems like a good idea. Once the problem is resolved, I predict you will love your car - I've got a '13 also, and I'm crazy about it.

Adjust the tie rod ends equal and opposite amounts on the front wheels. This will keep the toe as is, but center the steering wheel. Make sure to think in advance which direction to adjust. Adjust in small increments and check the result. Tedious, but effective.

Unless something is not being tightened back up, steering wheel should not lose its center. When doing the alignment, the wheel is centered, then toe/caster/camber adjusted as needed. I don't believe caster is adjustable on these cars, not even sure about camber (one of you suspension experts can chime in) is either.
Reminds me of a kia i had (optima sx - lived up to it's name.. it sucked). Damn thing wouldn't go straight if its life depended on it. 6+ alignments later it would still wander all over the place. Issue likely due to crappy tires, front end geometry and electric power steering.

Correct, steering angle sensor must be part of any alignment, especially at the dealer.
If the sensor is not calibrated, the car will think you are turning, and power steering will not be in a neutral state, causing a pull. That can be mistaken by a steering off center.
When the car's steering wheel is deemed straight by the BCM, the power steering is non operative, the fluid pressure is balanced to both sides.

Same problem but got it fixed
Had my car aligned and my steering wheel was off center. They plugged in a computer under the steering wheel and reset the steering angle. Guy said not many people realize that they have to reset that after each alignment. If not the car thinks thats the correct position for the steering wheel, even if the car is aligned.

When I swapped my steering wheel out I noticed it was off by one tooth. Installed the new one properly, had it aligned and centered and no issues now unless I need an alignment.
