Exclamation Anyone with a '10 g37 can you answer my question please?

I'm in the market to buy one(pretty much 95% sure), but I was taking a look at the TSB's and I saw one that caught my eye; "The oil consumption problem" this was the exact reason why I changed my mind from buying an Audi to a Infiniti. Can anyone shed some light on if they have had it? especially on a 2010 G37(thats the one that I plan on purchasing). Judging by the posts the oil consumption problem is happening to more of the 09's, no one has reported it for the '10+, but I still would like to know. Also if you can please tell me of any other major problems that you may have gone through.

Thanks!

No problem for me yet. Only problem is say I've had is the interior pieces chipping some. I'm gonna get them hydro dipped anyway. Lol. I've had the car only 3 months.

I have had my 2010 G37 for 4 years and 30,000 miles. I have had zero problems with the car. It uses no oil between changes. It still runs and looks like new.

Me too. Have had mine almost a year. ... no problems except self induced ones.... modding. 😈

When I check oil.... it is ALWAYS where I left it. Zero oil consumption. Buy it.

You guys are lucky. I've owned two coupes ('11 and '13), bought both new, and both required topping off between extended synthetic oil changes (~5-6K intervals). The first car ended up being lemoned due to massive oil consumption resulting in engine failure and replacement. My current car requires about a half a quart between changes, give or take. I use good oil and filters (Pennzoil Ultra and Purolator PureONE) and don't track or drive abnormally hard, so I can't attribute it to anything other than production tolerances. I'm not saying it's common. It could just be a hit or miss thing and maybe some folks are luckier than others, or they don't realize it because they change their oil more frequently. Just don't be shocked if your car does too. YMMV and good luck!

^ +1. oil consumption was an issue with '05-'06 6MT G35s (and 350Zs). since then the problem has been almost eradicated. every once in a while a problem will pop up, as with any other make of vehicle, but the '09+ G37 VQ37HR is relatively bulletproof.

Bought my 2010 6MT in May 2010. 60k miles. No oil consumption that I've noticed. Asides from a little paint chipping and rust on the trunk lid (covered under warranty), and the accelerator pedal squeak (fixed under TSB), no issues.
