Stillen is a confirmed 2.5" (emailed Adam at Stillen)

Megan Racing is also 2.5" but the y pipe is sold separately

I'm 100% sure that Stillen is 2.2" not 2.5"
Even if Adam told you so

Anyone running a Tanabe full cat back? I have the mufflers (medallion) but I'm considering getting the mid-pipe. The Tanabe sounds great outside the car, but in the cabin it's not that noticeable. It helped tremendously when I installed the Stillen G2 intake, but that's engine noise. I do want a little more exhaust grunt, just not sure how I feel about having drone in a luxury sedan...

Resonators address in-cabin drone, so get some big ones.

Another option is to stop looking at it as a luxury sedan. Consider this car a sport(ish) sedan with some luxury features. A loud exhaust will go a long way towards that conversion.

You're talking about the resonators that are in/on the mid-pipe? Wouldn't replacing the mid-pipe address that issue as well?

I suppose you're right about the word "luxury." I didn't buy this car with the intention of it being super quiet. I'm not THAT old lol. But I also don't want an exhaust that is louder than the relative speed/quickness of the car. For instance, the Meisterschaft sounds amazing on our cars, but it's ridiculous because the car isn't fast or exotic enough to warrant the kind of attention that exhaust brings it.

Side note - did you ever make a decision on your CBE?

You mean something like this? I actually wish it had a bit more loudness to it but I'm still pretty happy with it sound wise.

I placed an order at Xmas for Fast Intentions, 2.5" pipes, 18" resonators. I figure the 18" resonators matched up to the resonated cats will allow for a decent in-cabin experience, 2.5" piping notwithstanding. (Knock on wood)

BTW, I'm still waiting for that hardware. Getting an FI order built and shipped is like waiting for a baby. Both get the wife equally cranky.

I considered the FI CBE but went with Tanabe because the tone is lower which I like. But by no means is the FI "too much" for this car. Just a matter of tone preference, in my opinion.

Also, that video is outside the car, do you have one in the cabin? I'd imagine the noise is drastically muted. It's as if our cars are so well insulated that it takes a very loud exhaust outside (not wanted) to sound good inside (wanted). Fine line to walk...

Lol good point. My wife is all over me every time a package arrives with my name on it.

I wish I could do HFC's in CA, that would probably do the trick as the driver's seat is right above them. I read your review of yours, and it's exactly what I'm looking for. I just refuse to have to deal with tickets and such because of them.

I recently got the meisterschaft and it is incredible. I had the ark catback for a while with stock cats, then went to berk cats with the ark and it sounded great but didn't really project. My current setup I'm in love with, in my opinion it couldn't get any better except if I had one of those electric valves installed in it to quiet it down when I feel like having some low key fun.

I'll get some exterior videos soon
