WTF! Q40 will be the new G37?

WTF! Q40 will be the new G37?
Just read this on one of the auto blogs that Infiniti will continue the G37 as a Q40 until the end of 2015 model. WTH is the point cause they will eventually kill the model anyway?

I kinda wished they would make the G25 into the Q40 to differentiate with the 3.7 in Q50.
Maybe a retune or make it a 2.7L instead of the 2.5L V6 so its better compete with the FI from BMW and MB.
