My wife said when the adjuster started the gas, water started pouring out of the exhaust and I think the vents in the dashes?

I'm very sad because I really loved that car. (was a pleasure to drive) so we'll see what wife decides to do.

Just figured I'd update you guys!

I must also add Geico was very good, and adjuster was very professional, friendly and timely. I'm very happy with Geico so far. Might even write a 'great job' letter to commentate a good job. It's been very stressful for my wife and I. Never dealt with something like this before, and GEICO couldn't have made it easier.

now off we go finding a new car... (which is stressful as well) She wants to look at a Q50 lease as an option, or a Q70
You were lucky that the easy decision triggers were hit. I wouldn't be too quick to credit your adjuster though. You were only a few subjective observations (inches) away from a painful ordeal.

Should have asked at what point is automatic total loss. From all the reviews the Q is quite disappointing. But I guess you have to test it in person to see how it suits you and your wife.

At that point he had already deemed it a total loss. for all I care, he could have driven it to their lot LOL.

what happened was I disconnected the battery because the electrical gremlins made the car go crazy in the water. He needed the mileage and reconnected the battery, and I guess instead of starting to 'on' he pressed the pedal and the car started. not my problem at that point. I even had a piece of paper on the dash saying "DO NOT START! FLUIDS ARE CONTAMINATED WITH WATER!!!"

NOt sure how it works, we paid 23,000 for it with a 7K neg equity (took a total of 31,000 for the loan). we were given 27,000 for the car. I assume the car will be paid with 27K and then the rest will be covered by GAP.

I highly doubt I'm seeing anything out of this in my pocket, except the neg equity disappearing.

We liked the car. Not sure what the reviews say, I did look at them. they weren't terrible.

Oh man, it was BAD. there were cars floating to the community's roads in some areas here. We are lucky, but some houses got flooded as well.

I'm sure this event put things into perspective, cars can always be fixed or replaced, glad it wasn't any worse for you & your family.
