No hate, just trying to help you get metallic orange calipers
I hate when the cost/benefit reality of potential mods comes crashing down. I think we all have a few mods we contemplate on and off but keep coming back to the same conclusion on. It's that aluminum front subframe and LCAs for me

The damn calipers... it's such a vanity project, on such a small thing. But I wantssss it, precious.

And as I expected, after searching ebay and searching for a PC shop, and running the numbers, I'm faced with the reality that all of this is just so that I can change the color of my calipers. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just... all this for a color change?
This is the point where I wrestle with my values. I've been here before, LOL.
Thanks for that moment of humility. Yeah, they would have to be powder-coated, for sure.
Metallic amber/orange, in case anyone is wondering. This against a Moonlight White car. With my Vossens and 2-piece rotors, it sure would look good.

@Rochester I’ve got the original calipers from mine. Absolutely would need to be blasted before coating. Pm me an offer lol.
edited to add: my track car project is on hold for the foreseeable future, they’re just taking up space.

Can't adequately describe how far back in her head my wife's eyes rolled.

I want to redo the clear bra on my car since it’s almost 6 years old. Got a quote for 1200. The wife’s response was similar.

Next up would be to choose the shop to bead blast & powder coat. I've got options, and will likely visit a few shops, get estimates, etc. Planning and execution will certainly occupy my thoughts for a while... which is nice. It's been a while since I've had a car project.

What's the difference between these two sets of Z1 brake lines? Do I care?

Unlike most standard stainless steel Brake Lines, this premium kit utilizes brass mounting blocks to fit all factory mounting locations with stock hardware. This allows for a more exact fit without binding or stretching issues as a result of excess line length. This also helps in preventing premature wear of the lines and it's protective outer coating.

I've heard these guys do nice work, but $450 a wheel is pretty steep. However, it's alot of labor to uninstall, clean/prep then paint and reinstall: https://calchrome.com/brake-caliper-painting/
I also recall a company that advertised on IG that they could do the same work for $200 a wheel, but I cannot recall the name.
Their ad car showed the calipers painted in a high gloss metallic vintage Chevrolet engine block orange and the final product looked intense.

They're both SS, just that the more expensive set has these "brass mounting blocks", and I don't get what that means or if it matters.
