Just one car? I must do this with 15 different cars a week. Cars and bids & bring a trailer are definitely my weakness.

Clearly you've got a wandering eye. That's been obvious for years now.

However you mostly look forward, whereas I tend to look backwards. But the real difference is that you genuinely act on your impulses, while I'm stuck in the mud.

You're dead on. I do look back a lot, but I am so damn logical that I talk myself out of older cars just because I know most of them will not be as fun as newer cars and ultimately require some big expensive repair. Now that a lot of previously unavailable cars from other countries are becoming available there are so many more bad decisions for me to make...

I went through a fair number of cars since I sold my G, but really just because the numbers made so much sense to move on to something else. Too bad I sold my G before the used car market went crazy. I definitely did not make any money on that car, but it was a hell of a lot of fun to own. Truth be told, I keep looking for a red 6spd. sedan to do another build. This would be more of a street build and very simple to do since I have already done it. I just keep getting a little scared of the age and mileage. And I do not think the pricing on these cars has come back to normal yet.

If it were me considering another G, it would probably be an AWD Sport Coupe, regardless of the 7AT. I'd button down the suspension, put a nice exhaust on it, get it tuned and call it done.

Well... wheels too, I suppose.

Oh no, now look what you've started. The parts list is just going to grow. I have been eyeing up convertibles 6spds. just to do something different and hear that beautiful uncorked exhaust even better. I just dread driving RWD in our winters again and I fear the chassis will be pretty loose with the top down. Then again, it is a hardtop so maybe you don't give up too much handling prowess with the top up for rigidity. I think it might feel a bit slow with the extra weight though.

Have you ever driven a Vert 6MT? They definitely feel heavy, and that's because they are heavy. But they don't feel slow because the rear gears are shorter than the 6MT Coupe & Sedan. Shorter... but no Limited Slip.

But speed isn't everything, particularly in a Vert.

That's right! I forgot about the gearing. Is there no LSD in the S models too?

The Coupe 6MT had the same 3.69:1 rear end as the Sedan 6MT, and both had VLSD.

Are you asking did the Vert S with the 7AT have Limited Slip? I don't know, but I suspect it did.

Never understood the lack of LSD in the Vert 6MT. I wish there were someone who could answer that. It's like some kind of secret, like why didn't the G have a heated steering wheel? Shhhhhh

Thanks for reminding me about G car projects. Look what you started. This car looks super clean and is just screaming to become my next project car: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...Type=spotlight

I probably wouldn't for all the reasons I mentioned earlier, but these are the kind of stupid ideas I entertain daily. Welcome to my world. That does look really clean and low mileage for a 2009 though.

The conflict is real. I am seriously considering it. I know that I most definitely want an M3, but the question is whether I get to keep the G and have both or not.
