Right?
Yup exactly, and if the battery is dead the priority isnt getting into the trunk anyways, it would be the engine bay.

I keep a an extra fob back there in a bag.

But I dont have a key cover. Pulled the fob down to access the key one day, another day I simply went under the car to unlock it with the fob button since I had left the original key.

I hate when a specific paranoia settles within my subconscious, I rarely have them however for the ones I do I have to confirm many times.

Ex: EVERY SINGLE Power consuming item has to be OFF when I leave the garage. I've killed many batteries over this because I refuse even to expensive and smart tenders. It's not that I dont trust the tech, I dont trust myself and it I did miss it one day and it ended in chaos I would never be able to forgive myself. So I somewhat understand where some of this comes from.

Back from a brief DC museum crawl with the kiddo.

JSolo, I've not had that experience getting the key blank cover off. EVERY time I've removed one, the clips on the back side have broken. I'd love to hear in detail what you do that that doesn't happen - no snark.

^know Air and Space and Natural History are top picks for kids, but if they’re older then maybe National Gallery, SAAM/Portrait Gallery and Renwick are worth considering

Hope you have a nice time, pretty decent weather for this time of year (mild, at least)

We were there from 12/26 through 1/2. Natural History, American History, American Indian (yes still called that), White House visitor's center, Air & Space on mall, Air & Space Udvard-Hazy, Library of Congress, Supreme Court. Couldn't get tickets for the WH or the Washington Monument. It was COLD the first 2 days but then just mildly chilly.

My kid is into paleontology so it was almost a whole day in the fossil hall of Natural History. I'm an aircraft geek so the A&S museums are my jam. FWIW, if anyone gets to go, at the moment skip the A&S on the Mall - half of it is closed for renovations. Udvard Hazy is the bomb though - when you walk out on the entry balcony and see the Discovery and a blackbird lined up, it's a good day.

White House tickets come from your senator or congressman, 90 days in advance. We hit them all at 90, nothing available. Guessing holiday tickets all reserved for VIPs.

For many generations my fam has been a part of the aviation sector (pilots, air traffic controllers, airline mechanics), I was the first to break the mold (went as far as applying to aeronautical engineering school, but didn’t pursuit it). When I visited the Dulles annex, it felt like some sort of awakening. So well done.

Fell *** backwards into going up the Wash monument last year, Dc doesnt have much to look at in terms of views (skyline, mountain range). Just a view of the mall basically. Didnt miss much IMO

Have you guys been following Motorvate Garage's GTR gauges progress? I'm super interested in this. Alternatively I thought about getting a powertune dash, both options use CAN bus so they are fast and accurate. He has it running in his car partially on his latest FB post.

I just read that 2023 is the last model year for the Q60.

Not that it's a loss of a car I never aspired to own, but it still feels like a death blow to what we all used to think about Infiniti.

The car makes no sense with the 400Z being around. It has no manual, and a worse automatic transmission, and it's not priced very well. Not surprised.

The Q60 was axed last year already so I'm sure any remaining inventory is being sold as 2023 models. The question is, will the Q50 be next? It is due for a refresh/ redesign for 2024/5 and I've heard nothing about it thus far. With Infiniti putting all of their "eggs" into the CUV/SUV models it is going to kill itself.

All good things come to a end...

It has been an awesome project, Frank is super passionate about it. I try to help whenever I can by lending my car to test. Cant wait to try the gauges out for myself. I have a very general understanding of the bits and pieces that made this work, but you should see the amount of data he has to go through to figure out what signal does what. Man deserves a medal of some sort lol.

Well I'd certainly donate some money to him.

Wasn't one of our common forum members a subie mechanic, or worked for a subie dealer?
