All of my G mods (wheels, exhaust) are on hold... It's gotta get better at some point, no?

November? 2024?, 2025?
I did one road trip last month. Even with the lowered (if you can call it that) fuel prices, just not motivated to go anywhere.
My desktop is plenty capable... 3900x, 64gb ram, 50+ TB of hd space, 32" 4K monitor. Who needs a laptop....

I've got an old lenovo flex 5 14" i5 laptop and I can't see any reason to upgrade, other than that this one 'won't' run Win 11.
I guess I might con the work IT folks into getting me a carbon x1 and give this one to my daughter - upgraded ram and SSD means it plays minecraft better than her old HP LOL.
My racing buddy is trying to convince me to go in halfsies on an older Formula Mazda race car... Still too rich for my blood. He has no wife or kids so his money priorities don't usually match mine anyway. But... damn those are solid track cars.

LOL. I haven't had a desktop, Win or Mac, in 20-25 years or so...
Same here but everything is either getting either too expensive or just not available. I am having to seal my skylight, again, and the materials have more than doubled since I last worked on the damn thing (≈3 years ago).
I don't see things getting any better until 2024 and even then who the hell knows...

^^At present there's 12 physical drives in my case. Fortunately a single sas card drives 8 of them. The board can drive 4 more (total of 8 too). Still, the wiring spaghetti is a pain. The next step is a 2U or larger charger chassis - for a workstation. I like to keep it simple, black case is fine. For cpu cooling a small heater core is strapped to the back ().
At idle, the whole thing draws ~200 watts, under full load can get up into the upper 300's.

Lately I've been thinking of getting them, some advan wheels, and HKS coils so I can do the HKS Livery in wrap form on my car. I really like the old school R32 HKS look but I'd need at least some parts to make it make a little sense .

RE: computers - if I ever build another desktop, I'll stuff it in an SGI Indigo or Octane case. Surprisingly sold my old SGI Indy a few years ago for like $600. I miss those computers... sorta. At work I use an HP laptop on a dock driving 3 monitors - I have a similar setup at home with a USB3 KVM so I can plug in the work laptop and use my monitors without having to unplug anything.
I don't have any fancy screens but the local Goodwill usually has 23-27" widescreen LCDs for $50 each. I populated an entire legal aid office with them back in 2018 and have a few spares for myself...

My bad, the skylight in the house. Every few years a tiny leak always pops up. It is on borrowed time anyway. Soon enough I am going to yank the damn thing out and be done with it once and for all. I am too old to be playing on rooftops anymore.
Mine is the same way. I was going to replace it last year when I replaced all of the door seals but never could get the right part number. (91246-xxxxx). As such I already did the drain bypass so I have time...
