Still going to be crazy expensive. You'd have to pull the auto and either build it or do a VR30 swap (I don't even think that can hold 600). Turbo kit, supporting mods, I'd imagine you probably have to open up the motor, etc. You got another 15-25k to throw at it?

Hey Rey, you should do yourself a favor and spend some decent time researching. The Vq37 though similar is no VR38, many 37s struggle to survive at that power level because they lift the heads. I've seen many in the 900-950s. Nothing yet in the Automatic platform however I suspect only BMW 7-8speed trans will be the only ones able to get you there. You'll need some pretty decent turbos or a big turbo which will take a ton of space in the bay or somewhere in the car as well.

Because we've seen this way too many times, would you care to post the research that you've done so far as well as some price inquiries?

I know it'll be expensive and, I am aware it will be hard, I'd for sure have to pull the motor and do a full rebuild. I'm in it for the long term LOL

I haven't done much research but I've seen a 2004 g35 with 935whp and a 2011 g37 coupe with around the same whp (both manuals) and Ill probably have to do a manual swap or just rebuild my trans

Doubt an auto G37 transmission will hold even if built, have my doubts on the Vr30 as well, manual trans will have a better chance at surviving. You get to see older VQs making some decent power due to simplicity in electronics and affordability for built engines since almost nobody build's DEs
Proper planning prevents **** poor performance. I think this is just an idea in your head, the issue here is what works today might not work tomorrow, you might start accruing parts only to find out in the future a better combination comes out and your investment is trash.

I say about $40k for a properly reliable build that will come close to that kind of power. Engine and transmission alone to handle that power will be $20k, a proper flowing turbo setup will be another $10k and you still have another $5k in ECM/Program/Tuning another $3k in fueling
A 900whp+ vehicle will need to see the tuner quite a bit. Sorry if I sound pessimistic however many members start with this idea but don't usually take the time to properly plan this and almost always stays in their heads, many times ends in a plethora of non combining parts that just take up space with and end 25% financial loss.

Thanks, this was very helpful, I can understand my car a little more now.
What kind of power do you think I can get out of my g37 $15k to 20k, also what can I start with, cold air intakes or exhaust or anything else?

Without spending the $40K on forced induction, why not look at the Z1 400 HP package and a tune? That's the most you can (easily) get with bolt ons. Past that you're building a motor at the very least - Bull has a better idea of what that would cost but with ported heads/cams/stroker kit I'd guess north of $10k for an extra 50-75 HP on top of the 400.

Spent four days this week in Burlington, Vermont. Took me a while before I realized there were no sports cars, no sport sedans, and zero muscle cars in the area. Subaru everywhere, but not a single WRX or STI. Lots and lots of Teslas, but all Model 3 and Y, didn't see a single Model S. There were a million bicycles, just no car scene. Friendly, unpretentious community. Huge diversity of all kinds of white people, LOL. The area is so Caucasian that it's pretty obvious and odd. Lots of students too, big college town, and yet a fair number of homeless. What an unusual place. Incredible scenery.

But loud, lowered cars? Nope. In your face American muscle? Nope. Angry aggressive drivers? Nope, not at all. Didn't see a single police car the entire time, which was also very odd. Total opposite of Buffalo, but Burlington is a small city, I guess, and culturally very, very chill. I liked it.

The lack of diversity (ethnic and automotive LOL) would have put me on edge the whole time. And I'm generic white dude # 7 (brown hair with beard).

I worked up there for two winters at the IBM facility. Scenery is indeed beautiful.......in the spring and summer. The winters just suck. The fall is the areas claim to fame.

Heres an article attempting to describe the disparity. Not sure how much I buy into it but seems plausible.
